Embracer Group adds up and goes on: it takes ownership of seven studios and a Viking merchandising company

It is normal that we are amazed by such impressive purchases as that of Bethesda by Microsoft or that it has already become routine for Tencent to invest in numerous development studios . However, another company that continues to expand is Embracer Group .

The Swedish conglomerate has announced that it has done not one, not two, but up to seven studies in one go, along with a company with particular merchandising. Specifically, they are 3D Realms, CrazyLabs, DigixArt, Easy Trigger, Force Field, Ghost Ship Games, Grimfrost and Slipgate Ironworks . Almost nothing, so it is necessary to reel off the objectives for each of these teams.

Through the subsidiary Coffe Stain Studios, Embracer Group has acquired 100% of the shares of the studio. They are the creators of Huntdown and will focus on continuing to work on that IP, as well as shaping more independent titles.

Coffe Stain Studios has also been in charge of representing Embracer Group in this purchase. Once again, 100% of the company belongs to Embracer and they will remain independent while receiving support for the development of their works.

In this case, the Embracer Group has directly acquired Crazy Labs in its entirety. Based in Israel, they are the authors of the mobile game Super Stylist and are one of the largest publishers in the telephone industry, with more than 4.5 billion downloads of their titles . With this agreement, Embracer will enhance publishing and merger capabilities with other Crazy Labs companies.

Grimfrost: Embracer Group adds up and goes on: it takes ownership of seven studios and a Viking merchandising company

Embracer has been left with 70% of Varyag Group AB, which work under the name of Grimfrost. They are an e-commerce specialist and a world leader in creating high-quality Viking merchandising.

DigixArt

Koch Media has been in charge of closing the agreement for the absolute purchase of the studio based in France. DigixArt are responsible for Lost in Harmony , 11-11 Memories Retold and the future Road 96 . They will continue to do their regular work under the supervision of Koch Media.

Force field

Once again, Koch Media signs the agreement to obtain 100% of the shares of Force Field. His main specialty is virtual reality , with titles such as Landfall, Time Stall or Coaster Combat . They will continue to operate on a regular basis and it is presented as a key element to advance in the field of AAA virtual reality.

3D Realms

In this case, it is Saber Interactive’s turn to seal the purchase of 40% of its shares. 3D Realms is based in Denmark and has over 30 years of experience in the industry , having created the Duke Nukem saga . They will work in collaboration with Saber and have up to six ongoing projects in conjunction with Slipgate Ironworks.

Slipgate ironworks

Finally, we have the case of Slipgate Ironworks, also signed its acquisition under the umbrella of Saber Interactive . Here, Embracer does take 100% of the shares of a studio that shares nationality with 3D Realms. They stand out when it comes to editing important projects, as well as performing ports and developments.
