Realme 8 and Realme 8 5G, blurring the line between mid-range and high-end

Realme, one of the fastest growing manufacturers in recent years, brings its flagships for the mid-range to Europe. In this sense, the Realme 8 and Realme 8 5G are the sensation of the moment, and for good reason, they have a lot to offer for just 200 eurazos (yes, they both cost the same). This time we will know them briefly, including the aspects in which they differ. Without further ado, let’s get to it.

Going into detail, the rear cover of the terminal features a stripe with a holographic finish, emphasizing the company slogan “Dare To Leap”. Here you can also see a stone-style gradient and a rectangular quad camera module located in the upper left corner. The color presentations are Cyber Black (black) and Cyber Silver (silver).

The front is governed by a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel with FullHD + resolution , 1,000 nit brightness, and hole for the selfie camera. It also has a built-in fingerprint reader, but the refresh rate remains conventional (60Hz).

The Realme 8 boasts of using the same processor as the Pro version , we are talking about a Helio G95 from MediaTek, which can be accompanied by 4GB / 6GB / 8GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage (expandable via Micro-SD up to 1TB). The set is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging and promises a full recharge in just 65 minutes.

The operating system could not be other than Android 11 along with the Realme UI 2.0 user interface and the connectivity options remain as usual in this model (4G).

Moving on to the photographic configuration, on the rear there are four cameras , captained by a 64MP sensor with a 6-piece lens and f / 1.79 aperture. Added to this lineup is an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens with a 119 ° field of view, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP monochrome sensor, both with f / 2.4 aperture. Lastly, we got a 16MP front camera.

The presence of 5G is not the only thing that differentiates these terminals. At first glance we will notice that the line that emphasizes the Realme slogan is not present, but it does retain the reflective surface and the rectangular photographic module. It should be noted that this time the color presentations are blue and black.

The screen increases its size to 6.5 inches and the refresh rate to 90hz, which gives it a clear – albeit small – advantage over the 4G model.

For its part, the Hardware also receives changes, starting with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip that displaces the G95. Also, the RAM memory options are 4GB or 6GB, but this time with the possibility of choosing between 64GB or 128GB of internal storage . The battery capacity remains at 5,000mAh, but the charging power drops to 18W.

In the field of connectivity we will obviously have the advantage of having 5G in the NSA and SA bands , but NFC is also added to the equation.

The latest differences are in the photographic department. Where the standard model has a 64MP quad camera, the Realme 8 5G sacrifices one of the sensors, specifically the wide angle; which leaves us with a triple camera . Also, the resolution of the main sensor drops to 48MP (64MP on the 4G model). The front camera is unchanged (16MP).
