Ulefone Note 9P, when the low-end gets very competitive

This time we will review the  Ulefone  Note 9P , a low-end or entry terminal if you like, which strives to compete in a category dominated by devices from manufacturers such as Huawei, Xiaomi and Realme. With a price of less than 150 euros, the  Ulefone Note 9P offers us a 6.52-inch HD screen, an Octa-Core chip, a 16MP triple camera and also a 4,500mAh battery for a whole day of intense use.

On paper it is an excellent proposal for the price, and honestly speaking, it makes a fool of its predecessor, the  Ulefone Note 8P , another cheap mobile, but based on Android Go. If you are interested in knowing it in detail, you already know what to do.

An undeniably pretty terminal : Ulefone Note 9P, when the low-end gets very competitive

The  Ulefone  Note 9P is a cheap terminal, no one denies that, but the current trend is that even the cheapest of devices is worthy of admiration.

Ulefone Note 9P - Design

The  Ulefone  Note 9P is no different in this regard to  the low-end  of the most popular brands and invests some points in its style; which it is based on a body  unibody  I slender rear cover gradient effect quite captivating. It may be inexpensive, but it definitely doesn’t look like one.

In this order of ideas, the available color presentations are: green, blue and black , with the first two sporting a gradient tone and a pattern of diagonal lines. The body consists of a mandatory metal frame and exhibits size dimensions of 166 x 76.7 x 9.2  mm.  Also, the terminal weighs 188 grams, it is neither heavy nor light by modern standards.

Ulefone Note 9P - Construction

At the back we can see the photographic module on the upper left corner, housing 3 sensors and an LED flash. Adjacent to the camera module we find the fast unlocking method par excellence: a fingerprint reader , although there is also facial recognition that should be limited.

Moving to the front, there is a screen with a diagonal of 6.52 inches and HD resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels, nothing out of the ordinary, but it does its job decently. As can be seen, it exhibits a notch in the shape of a drop of water for the selfie camera, which employs a 4-piece sensor with 8MP resolution and f / 2.2 aperture.

Ulefone Note 9P - Display

At the level of physical interfaces, it offers a 3.5mm audio jack and also a reversible USB Type-C port , something that is not yet the standard in the low-end, so we have to give Ulefone credit   for trying.

Hardware and Features : Ulefone Note 9P, when the low-end gets very competitive

Under the hood the  Ulefone  Note 9P carries a chip  MediaTek  MT6762 eight – core Cortex – A53 at 1.8GHz . Accompanying it we get a PowerVR GE8320 GPU and a respectable 4 gigabytes of RAM. To the above mentioned, 64GB of internal storage is added ; If this figure seems little to you, you don’t have to worry, since a dedicated Micro-SD slot allows us to add up to an additional 256GB of space.

Objectively speaking, the  SoC  chosen by the manufacturer is low-performance, so we cannot expect a masterful performance in demanding applications or games, but for everyday tasks and apps it is more than fine. However, the latter makes up a bit with the generous amount of memory installed, which ensures smooth multitasking at all times.

Ulefone Note 9P - Battery

Leaving the negative aside, the presence of a 4,500mAh battery ensures -at least- a full day’s duration with standard use or up to two days with reduced use. Unfortunately, fast charging is not as fast as the manufacturer claims (10W), which would have been the icing on the cake, but it is perhaps too much to ask for the price.

In a different vein, the connectivity options range from 4G LTE to dual-band Wi-Fi, including Bluetooth 5.0 to pair wireless devices, but it obviously lacks NFC. Interestingly, it supports multiple GPS navigation and satellite positioning systems, including Glonass,  Beidou,  and Galileo.

Ulefone Note 9P - Android 10

Lastly, the OS is pure Android 10 , no low-end custom interfaces or   manufacturer bloatware . The only objectionable thing is that we are not talking about the most recent version of Android at the time of writing this article.

Cameras

A triple camera is among the main virtues of the terminal. Going into detail, the configuration is headed by a 16MP sensor with f / 2.2 aperture  and is  backed by a 5MP macro camera. Lastly, it has a 2MP depth sensor that doesn’t really help Bokeh mode  . For its part, the front camera is 8MP and supports 2D facial recognition for a more convenient and faster unlocking.

The set is nothing to write home about, but at least it supports HDR and can shoot video in  FullHD . The quality of the photographs is what we can expect from a basic range terminal, and again, it is  difficult to  fault it for it.
