As planned, Asus has introduced the Asus  Rog Phone  5 series, the latest in mobile for gamers. This series  is  composed of three spectacular terminals that do not skimp on any aspect, these are the Asus  Rog Phone  5, 5 Pro and 5 Ultimate . All three mount an impressive 6.78-inch screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and on top of that they can boast of having the powerful Snapdragon 888 chip inside.

With an aesthetic that screams  gamer  and the Asus Republic of Gamers logo   on the back, the  Rog Phone  5 makes its purpose very clear from the start. On the front, it boasts a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a FullHD + resolution of 2,448 x 1,080 pixels and, even more interesting, a 144Hz refresh rate with brightness of up to 800 Nits. Additionally, it exhibits a sampling rate of 300Hz, is compatible with HDR10 + and has a Gorilla Glass Victus glass layer   protecting the screen.      

We cannot forget to mention that it employs 4 front speakers with Cirrus Logic amplifiers for a first-rate sound experience. Additionally, it has four microphones with noise reduction.

Besides the LED lights and its imposing display, the Asus  Rog Phone 5 is just as impressive in the Hardware and Care department if not more. As we mentioned earlier, the 5nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip and its Adreno  660 GPU are at the center of the experience. The interesting thing does not end here, since the GPU is   factory overclocked , offering 35% better performance than the Asus  Rog Phone  4. Similarly, the  Asus GameCool 5 steam chamber cooling system  reduces the CPU temperature. by 10 degrees Celsius.   

The set is supported by 8GB or 12GB of RAM , which in turn can be accompanied by 128GB or 256GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage. As if that were not enough space, the Rog Phone 5 allows us to connect an external hard drive. 

Powering the terminal we will get not one, but two 3,000mAh batteries with MMT design, adding a total of 6,000mAh . And speaking of adding, to the above mentioned is added a fast charge with power of 65 watts. 

In terms of connectivity, the Asus  Rog Phone  5 consists of 5G on the NSA / SA bands , as well as Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and GPS. Also noteworthy is the presence of Pogo pins to connect accessories, such as game controls, and let’s not forget the second USB Type-C port on the left side to charge the device in a horizontal position. 

In the photographic field, it has a triple camera on the back; The configuration is led by a Sony IMX686 ultra-wide sensor with 64MP resolution , this is accompanied by a 13MP wide-angle sensor (125 ° degrees) and a 5MP macro camera. For selfies we will find a 24MP sensor with f / 2.45 aperture. 

Asus Rog Phone 5 Pro and Ultimate 

The Pro and Ultimate versions of the Rog Phone 5 do not differ much from the base version of the device, in fact, they are virtually identical as far as their specifications are concerned. The main differences (besides the price) lie in the amount of memory installed and in the presence of a PMOLED panel on the rear. 

Going into details, the Pro version consists of 16GB of RAM , 512GB of internal storage and a rear touch panel with PMOLED technology . Meanwhile, the Ultimate version mounts 18GB of RAM, the same storage as the Pro, but a monochrome PMOLED panel. 

Availability and price 

The Asus  Rog Phone  5 will hit stores in  April  for a starting price of 799 euros for the standard version (8 / 128GB) , while the Pro version will cost 1,199 euros. On the other hand, the Asus  Rog Phone  5 Ultimate will arrive as a limited edition in May for a price of 1,399 euros.
