eFootball (PES 2022) is “basically a demo” at launch: Konami supports it

Pro Evolution Soccer 2022 has turned out to be a very different proposal than what many expected. Mainly, because it is neither called PES 2022 nor will it be an annual delivery. As we learned last month, the Winning Eleven saga now becomes eFootball , a free game that will replace annual deliveries with a platform as a service with regular and seasonal updates , content passes, payment modes for DLC and cross-play. A risky bet, whose offer of launch modes and equipment does not quite convince players.

At its premiere, eFootball will have only 9 official teams and exhibition matches , waiting for the first competitive mode to arrive at the end of the year and to expand its roster of squads. An offer that many see more like a demo than a “big” video game by a renowned company. Well, Konami has admitted that the eFootball release “is basically a demo”.

Through social networks, the Japanese company has answered the most frequent questions from fans. And one of them was precisely this: Is the fall release basically a demo? Konami’s response was clear: ” In many respects, yes . We want people to get in touch with eFootball as soon as possible, so we will be launching it with a limited number of teams and modes . Specific details will follow later.”
