SPC presents the Smart and GEN ranges for less than 120 euros

The Spanish smartphone manufacturer, SPC, is growing and has just announced its landing in the entry range with the premiere of two series of affordable smartphones: the SPC Smart and SPC Gen , which offer the best possible specifications for a price cap. of 120 euros. In this sense, we are dealing with budget mobiles, which is especially noticeable in the SPC Smart series, since it lacks 4G connectivity, but it is still worth knowing.

SPC Smart and SPC Smart Lite

This range is aimed at the segment of people who only need a smartphone for the essentials and little else, such as visiting social networks, checking WhatsApp and watching the odd video, but nothing demanding. Therefore, the specifications are cut to cover users with these requirements. Going into details, we have a pair of terminals with a construction obviously made of plastic where a 5-inch screen with thick edges on all sides predominates , which, by the way, exhibits a resolution of 960 x 480 pixels (FWGA) and a ratio more or less modern in appearance (18: 9).

SPC Smart

Inside we will find a Quad Core processor from MediaTek running at a frequency of 1.3Ghz, which is paired with only 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory (expandable through Micro-SD up to 64GB). The battery that powers both models has a capacity of just 2,200mAh, but since there’s not much to power, it shouldn’t be a problem.

In the photographic department we find an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera in the case of the SPC Smart, while the LITE version lowers the resolution of its rear and front sensors to 5MP and 2MP, respectively. Also, only the rear camera has an LED flash and this applies to both models.

Smart lite

Android 9 Pie is the operating system that brings all these devices to life, so if you were expecting a modern OS, you will not find it in these terminals. Another thing that you will not find is 4G connectivity, since the SPC Smart and Smart Lite are limited to 3G (HSPA +, EDGE / GPRS / GSM). The rest of the options border on the usual: Wi-Fi b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and A-GPS.

The GEN and GEN Lite raise the ante considerably and bet on a larger screen, reaching 5.45 inches in the normal GEN and 6.09 inches in the Lite version . We know, it is counterintuitive to think that the GEN Lite has a larger screen than the normal version, but the matter does not end there, since it also has a notch in the form of water, being the only one of the 4 devices to offer such a feature. . However, a larger screen does not translate into a better resolution and this has been demonstrated by looking at the technical sheet of each terminal, which indicates that the GEN reaches 1,440 x 720 pixels , while the GEN Lite stays at 1,280 x 600 pixels.

SPC Gen

At the hardware level, these devices share a Unisoc chip with eight 1.6Ghz cores as the heart of the operation. However, the GEN Lite is limited to just 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, while its older brother can be had with 3GB or 4GB of RAM alongside 32GB or 64GB of internal storage , respectively. Also, the SPC GEN supports micro-SD up to 128GB, while the GEN Lite has a limit of 32GB.

In terms of battery, there are no differences, 3,000mAh for both models, and the same can be said for the connectivity options, where there is at least 4G LTE in Dual SIM.

Gen Lite

However, in the photographic field, things change again, because the GEN Lite opts for a 5MP + VGA dual rear camera with flash, while the standard GEN opts for a single 13MP camera . The front camera is one aspect that they have in common and it is a 5MP sensor.
