The LG V60 ThinQ stands out for its huge 6.8-inch p-OLED screen compatible with HDR10 + , which produces a Full HD + resolution of 2460 x 1080 pixels (395ppp) and a 20: 5.9 aspect ratio. Like last year’s V50S ThinQ, this terminal has a notch in the shape of a drop of water to make room for a 10MP selfie camera . The surface is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 glass and integrates a fingerprint reader.
However, the highlight is still the accessory that adds a second screen to the terminal , joining via a hinge and allowing the LG V60 ThinQ to take the form of a notebook, tablet, stand or tent. In turn, this protective case has a 2.1-inch notification panel on the back, offering the always-on-screen function.
This peculiar accessory – called LG Dual Screen – has a weight of 134 grams together with a thickness of 14.9mm and is connected via USB type C. In this sense, the secondary screen has the same properties as the main screen, including the notch in the form of a water drop, although it does not have an additional camera in it.
As is the custom in LG’s high-end mobiles, the V60 ThinQ has a dedicated button for the Google assistant and IP68 and MIL-STD 810G certifications against the elements . The above mentioned implies that the chassis is waterproof and dustproof.
Hardware and operating system
The Snapdragon 865 mobile platform combined with the X55 5G modem allows the LG V60 ThinQ to connect to sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G networks . The SD865 chipset comes with 8GB of RAM and a native storage of 128GB / 256GB. If this seems little to you, you can always add a Micro-SD card of up to 2TB using the dedicated slot.
The LG V60 ThinQ also surprises with its massive 5,000mAh battery , which supports Qualcomm’s QuickCharge 4+ (fast charging) and wireless charging for added convenience.
As you might expect, the device runs on Android 10 in conjunction with the company’s custom layer, LG UX 9.0. For music lovers, the South Korean company has features like 32-bit Quad DAC, stereo speakers with LG 3D Sound Engine technology, and four microphones. Additionally, it supports a function known as Voice Bokeh that -according to LG- can separate voices from ambient noise.
In the connectivity department we have everything we could wish for and more, starting with 5G NSA and SA, as well as supporting WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC and FM Radio.
