Huawei Nova 6, flagship ready for the 5G generation
As planned, Huawei has presented the Huawei Nova 6 series in China, which is made up of three terminals: the Nova 6, Nova 6 5G and Nova 6 SE . This line of smartphones stands out for its screen with double perforation and triple rear camera with optical zoom, but more importantly, it is the 5G network compatibility present in the flagship of the series, which is given by the Kirin 990 chip in combination. with 5G Balong 5000 modem.
Huawei Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G: Huawei Nova 6, flagship ready for the 5G generation
The Huawei Nova 6 comes in two flavors, so to speak, one compatible with 5G thanks to Huawei’s Balong 5000 modem and a 4G version, but physically speaking, they are identical to each other. Going into details, its design is extremely elegant and is everything that the Chinese company has accustomed us to in its high-end smartphones, exhibiting a 6.57-inch LTPS screen with a FullHD + resolution of 2,400 x 1080 pixels . It has non-existent bezels with the exception of the lower chin and the double perforation for the front cameras.
We will not find a fingerprint reader on the screen or on the back, instead, it has been mounted on the right side of the terminal. In the back we will find a triple camera aligned vertically and accompanied by a laser sensor and LED flash.
specs
The Huawei Nova 6 is just as interesting on the inside as it is on the outside, exhibiting a performance worthy of the Premium range, but without incurring excessive cost. This performance is provided by a powerful 7 nanometer Kirin 990 processor in conjunction with a Mali G76 GPU and a Dual NPU for tasks involving artificial intelligence.
In terms of memory, the Nova 6 series has 8GB of RAM in all its versions along with 128GB of internal storage . However, the 5G version can be purchased with a capacity of 256GB if desired.
Temperatures are regulated by an innovative heat pipe liquid cooling system and the terminal is powered by a 4,100mAh battery with 40W fast charge . It is worth mentioning that the 5G version has an extra 100mAh, thus reaching 4,200mAh to compensate for the additional energy expenditure.
However, the most interesting thing about this device is the compatibility with the exclusive NSA and SA bands of the 5G version, thus making the leap to the new generation of telecommunications.
The operating system that comes on board all these terminals is EMUI 10 in combination with Android 10 , yes, Google services are not present and it is still unknown what will happen when they reach other markets and regions.
Cameras
Moving on to the photographic offer, the Huawei Nova 6 is not far behind the best photographic phones that we have seen in 2019. Going into details, it has a 40MP Super Spectrum main sensor with RYYB pixel matrix, f / 1.8 aperture and is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f / 2.4 aperture, but this is not all, since it also has a third 8MP telephoto sensor. The latter brings 3x optical zoom to the set.
For its part, the double front camera is made up of a 32MP main sensor and an 8MP secondary sensor with wide angle (105-degree field of view).
Huawei Nova 6 SE
The Huawei Nova 6 SE represents an option aimed at the segment of the mid-premium range. At the design level there are a few key differences in the Huawei Nova 6 SE compared to its bigger brothers. For starters, it is slightly smaller and lighter, something that is denoted by its 6.4-inch screen with a single front camera embedded in it.
Also, the camera is different, as it not only adds a fourth sensor, but also rearranges the whole into a square module that protrudes slightly from the glass rear cover.
When inquiring into its specifications, it can be seen that the Kirin 990 chip was left out in favor of the Kirin 810. The rest of the features remain intact, including the 4,200mAh battery with 40-watt fast charge seen in the Nova 6 5G. . As you would expect, this version lacks 5G in its entirety.
In the photographic department something very curious happens, and that is that a fourth sensor is added. In this vein, the main camera becomes 48MP , being accompanied by an 8MP wide-angle sensor, a 2MP macro lens and, finally, a 2MP depth sensor.
The front camera suffers a cut, losing one of its sensors and lowering the resolution of the primary to 16MP (f / 2.0 aperture).
