How to install Google Play Services on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro

The Series 30 Huawei Mate was introduced last September in the city of Munich. Today, November 18, they go out to the Spanish market. I have already had the Huawei Mate 30 Pro in my hands for a few weeks and, of course, one of the first things I have done with it has been to try to install the famous Google services . As you know, this device does not have the GMS and instead incorporates the  HMS  (Huawei Mobile Services), which allow the terminal to be fully operational but, in practice, it is still not a system that can satisfy the average user 100%. western. We have a great dependence on Google , although we do not like to admit it. For this reason, in this article I want to tell you how I have installed the Google Play Services in the Huawei Mate 30 Pro.

If you have bought this smartphone or would like to, go ahead! Don’t be put off by the fact that it doesn’t come with pre-installed Google services because it has a solution, although yes, you may find yourself with certain limitations, such as incompatibility with Google Pay or with some specific apps.

How long did it take me and what did I need to install Google Play Services on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro?

Before telling you how to do it, I want to explain what my user profile is. I love technology, at the user level I dominate it very well, but I have never rooted any terminal or gone beyond that, a “normal” use. What I mean by this? You don’t have to be a hacker or have advanced computer skills to install this package.

In my case, it  took me an hour to do it . The process, if there is no complication whatsoever, should not take more than 20 minutes. I had to restore a couple of times because I could not do it until the third time, I followed two different tutorials and both were missing a piece of information that without it made operation impossible.

And finally, what have I needed? On the one hand,  the GAPPS folder  provided by colleague Eloy Gómez,  a computer, an external storage device  (USB OTG or NMCard, in my case I have opted for the latter and therefore I also needed a reader to insert it into my PC) , internet connection and a little time and patience.

Tutorial to install Google Play Services on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro

The first thing you have to do is download the GAPPS folder that we have linked to previously and unzip it. We copy this unzipped folder to the chosen external storage system and click it on our mobile.

To install the Google Play Services on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro we go to files , select  GAPPS – Necessary  and install the  Lzplay apk . Once finished, we give  Ready (never to open).

Now we will have to go to  Settings – Backup . We accept the Huawei Backup permissions and look for our external storage to make the copy there. Click on Backup  again  and select the files to copy, only the system settings and in applications and data, the Lzplay app (you will see it with a Chinese name and a G icon). We accept to make the copy, we check the box to close the apps in the background and it asks us for a password. Very important to put this: a12345678 . It asks us if we want to add a security answer, click on skip and wait for it to finish.

The next step is to return to the root of our external storage, click on  Files  and in the Necessary folder  select and copy info.xml and com.lzplay.helper.tar . We copy, return to the root Files – External storage and paste in  Huawei – Backup – FolderMate30 (or the name of your device) – BackupFiles1 – Date . We paste and replace the existing files.

Now we return to the Backup part  and restore the created copy. Be careful, because today’s date will have changed to October 4. It is normal. Select that one and enter the password a12345678. We restore and we have it almost ready.

We go to the desktop and open the app that has been installed with a G (lzplay). It allows accesses, press the blue button and activate and quickly (important to do it quickly, because there is time), go back to  Files – External storage – GAPPS – EMUI 9.1.1 and install all the apps that appear there , without opening any and in the order in which they are.

And ready! Once this is done you will see that you already have Play Store on your desktop. You should already have Google services working normally. How to install Google Play Services on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro
