Honor recently announced the launch of a new mobile for its entry range, we refer specifically to the Honor Play 8 , which is basically the Honor 8S that was launched in Russia, but renamed for the Chinese market. Since we have never properly spoken about that terminal, this is a good opportunity to do so.

In detail, the Honor Play 8 exhibits a LCD screen size of 5.71 inch  notch  shaped raindrop and bevels relatively thick. The aspect ratio is 19: 9 and therefore the resolution is 1520 x 720 pixels (HD +). 

The back cover is made of polycarbonate and has a textured surface that covers most of it. It is available in only two   color presentations : black and blue. 

Specifications and Features 

Honor has opted for the MediaTek  Helio A22 chip  , which is characterized by its unbeatable price-performance ratio in the entry-level range. It is accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage , the latter being expandable up to 512GB via Micro-SD. On the other hand, the terminal is powered by a 3,020mAh battery devoid of fast charging. 

In terms of software, the Honor Play 8 comes to offer what we take for granted in 2019, Android 9 Pie alongside Huawei’s EMUI 9.0 interface . 

In the photographic section there is not much to talk about, it includes a 13MP rear camera with f / 1.8 aperture , LED flash and the occasional interesting function such as HDR. Meanwhile, the selfie camera   makes use of a 5MP sensor with f / 2.2 aperture , in addition, it supports face unlock to compensate for the lack of a fingerprint sensor. 

Other relevant features of the Honor Play 8 are: Dual SIM 4G function , Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity,  Wi- Fi b / g / n, 3.5mm Jack and Micro USB 2.0 port. 

Honor Play 8 availability and price 

Finally, it has gone on sale in China at a cost of 599 yuan, that is, 78 euros at the exchange rate , being a highly competitive and aggressive price within its segment. However, we do not know at the moment if it will reach other markets.
