Monster Hunter Stories 2 and its RPG bet have triumphed: more than 1,000,000 sales in a week and a half

The role-playing spin-off of the Capcom saga is now available on PC and Nintendo Switch.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin landed in stores on July 9 with a JRPG proposal away from the main installments of the saga. A spin-off that has conquered PC and Nintendo Switch players to date, or so its sales data reflects: in just a week and a half of life, Monster Hunter Stories 2 has sold more than 1,000,000 games in all the world.

As usual, this sales milestone for Capcom brings together both the digital sales of the game and the physical copies distributed to merchants, the company confirms in its official statement . Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is the second JRPG adventure inspired by the Monster Hunter universe, in the wake of that first DS installment published in 2017. The company’s new bet puts us in the shoes of Red’s grandson, a famous “rider”, who will meet a young Wyverian named Ena , who has been tasked with taking care of the egg of a legendary rathalos .

With this sales milestone of its new installment, Capcom recalls that the Monster Hunter saga had more than 72 million games sold in its history, as of March 31, 2021. Will it reach 80 million by 2022? That will not only depend on this Monster Hunter Stories 2, but also on a Monster Hunter Rise for Nintendo Switch that has already sold more than 7 million games .

And that without forgetting that Monster Hunter Rise will be released on PC in early 2022. Be that as it may, if you have not yet tried Capcom’s latest JRPG adventure, do not hesitate to consult the analysis of Monster Hunter Stories 2 in 3DGames. And if that’s not enough, know that you have a free demo of MH Stories 2 available on PC and Switch , whose progress carries over to the final game. Finally, for those who prefer the more traditional hunting of the saga, this is our analysis of Monster Hunter Rise .
