Being bilingual is more than speaking, reading and writing in English … It is also thinking in English! In other words, you are fluent in English as your mother tongue.
That is not enough however to be a good English teacher. You will also have to pay attention to several crucial aspects!
To be an English teacher, knowing the language is not enough.

To be a private teacher of English, you do not need any diploma: English philology, law degree, master’s degree in physics and chemistry, engineer … Whatever your academic path, you can teach English if you wish. It is not mandatory to have any qualification in English to give private lessons.
In addition, your atypical profile could on the contrary make a difference compared to a certified teacher. You may well be following a computer science course and have an excellent level of English as well as skills for transmitting knowledge.
Even so, degrees never hurt and will help you in your career as a teacher, since they will give you a lot of credibility and will be very useful to give the necessary confidence for potential students to contact you.
