The essential chemistry kit
Speaking of conducting experiments, you won’t be able to do much without the right equipment .
You’ve probably wondered precisely at some point why your chemistry department is so full of things you’ve never seen outside of the chemistry lab. The answer is that you need all kinds of tools to run a chemical experiment effectively and, more importantly, safely.
The basic chemical apparatus is the Bunsen burner, a gas pipe that produces a very hot, clean and clear flame . Heat often induces chemical or physical change that you will need to observe and analyze, which is why the Bunsen burner has become the primary tool of modern chemistry .
But to study any chemical process, you will likely need test tubes, a flask, pipettes and burettes , and especially goggles and gloves to make sure you don’t hurt yourself.
And to understand the composition of the substance you are working with, some tools will help you come up with an explanation: litmus paper, a thermometer, and a molecular model.

The most important chemicals in history: The essential chemistry kit
If we said Lavoisier, Dalton, or Berzelius, would you know what we are talking about? And Mendeleev or Nobel? Does Linus Pauling sound familiar to you? All of these people have one thing in common: they are some of the greatest chemists in history !
Have you ever thought about who discovered the chemical elements? Or how did all these strange theories of chemical properties or chemical analysis end up in textbooks? Well, you have to thank (or blame!) These people.

Since the 18th century, scientists have been busy thinking, writing, and experimenting, to understand what actually happens when gases are heated or what those chemical bonds might look like. Your chemistry textbook didn’t fall from the sky full of knowledge, but scientists worked to develop these ideas , and their contributions to science have been amazing.
