A new Interplay? No, just a fake account already debunked by the former Fallout editors
A case of impersonation not collected in 3DJuegos that spoke of the return of the company in October.
Practically disappeared during this last decade and much of the previous one, the video game company Interplay Entertainment is currently active in small tasks of editing some of the IP that it still owns. However, in recent days there was a small commotion over a mysterious message on social networks that spoke of the return of the firm that finally has not been such.
As Interplay itself has announced through its official channels, a Twitter account has tried to impersonate its identity. In this sense, there are several different portals that picked up the news shared by the false profile on the social network that read: “July 28, be ready for the new Interplay.” It was not the first message on this profile, but it was one that was widely replicated.
His ‘CEO’ claimed to be a former Blizzard executiveLong enough to reach the ears of Brian Fargo , the co-creator of Interplay’s greatest hits in its first and most glorious years like Wasteland, Fallout, etc. The now director of inXile Entertainment within Xbox Games Studios soon claimed to have nothing to do with this rebirth , later being warned of how strange the announcement was.
As well as its supposed CEO and owner, a certain James Murdock who in his LinkedIn profile claimed to be a former Blizzard vice president and Rockstar veteran, without any official reviews on the matter in the past of both companies. In short, a montage of which we do not know its final objective.
Currently, Interplay is presented on its web portal as a publisher and developer of proprietary entertainment software of the IPs of Battle Chess, ClayFighter, Descent, Earthworm Jim, Freespace, Giants, Messiah, MDK, Run Like Hell and Sacrifice, in addition to the aforementioned Black Isle Studios. A few months ago they reissued Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance and have announced Kingpin: Reloaded with 3D Realms.
