ASUS has just revealed its cards, and by that we mean its flagships for the season, we are talking of course, the  ASUS  ZenFone 8 Flip  and  Zenfone 8. This time we will detail the first one on the list, which bets on a rear camera triple swivel, a mechanism that we saw in the  ZenFone  7 Pro and other terminals that pursue the full screen in its entirety.

So let’s start with the main course, the combination of screen and camera or, rather, the separation of these elements. The front panel uses Super AMOLED technology and has a size of 6.67 inches accompanied by FullHD + resolution , but not only that, it also reaches a refresh rate of 90hz, supports HDR10 +, has a fingerprint reader, is protected by Gorillas Glass 6. And, most important of all, it’s free of notches or holes for the front camera. 

For its part, the camera of the ASUS  ZenFone  8  Flip  makes use of a motorized mechanism made of liquid metal that allows it to unfold from the back to the front; Acting effectively as a front and rear camera. This mechanism even allows us to control the angle from which the photos are taken and retracts to protect itself when a fall is detected. 

The camera itself is made up of 3 photographic sensors, led by a 64MP Sony IMX686 with f / 1.8 aperture . This is followed by a 12MP wide-angle lens with a 113-degree field of view and macro photography capabilities (Sony IMX363) and, finally, an 8MP telephoto sensor that adds 3x optical zoom to the set. 

Hardware and Features 

Under the hood of the ASUS  ZenFone  8  Flip  lies the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip accompanied by the X60 modem, providing 5G connectivity on the NSA / SA bands. Some 8GB of RAM memory is present for multitasking, while the internal storage options are 128GB or 256GB (expandable via Micro-SD up to 2TB). 

Powering the whole is a high-density 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging, nothing out of the ordinary in this regard. 

The operating system is none other than Android 11, but obviously the interface is in charge of  ZenUI 8, ASUS’s custom layer. Wireless connectivity options range from 5G to Wi-Fi 6 / 6E, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.2 . 

Availability and price  

The ASUS  ZenFone  8  Flip  will eventually arrive in Spain with a price of 799 euros in its base version and 899 euros in the 8GB + 256GB version.
