Blackview A90, what can you expect from such a cheap smartphone?
Is it possible today to buy a solvent smartphone for 100 euros or less? There are manufacturers, like Blackview , that continue to try to conquer this segment that also needs to have good options on the table. Today we are talking about the Blackview A90 , a terminal with modest features but that can be a good option for those users who cannot spend a lot and want to enjoy the advantages of carrying a smartphone in their pocket.
Blackview A90 design: Blackview A90, what can you expect from such a cheap smartphone?
We are facing a very nice model at first glance, with a thickness of just 8.8 mm and a weight of 182 grams. Although the manufacturer has tried to minimize the edges, we do appreciate a small lip at the bottom of the screen. The top one is very well optimized thanks to the selfie hole in the upper left corner. It is available in blue or black , with a gradient effect that brings the back cover to life.
The screen size is 6.39 inches with 1560 x 720 px resolution and 18: 9 aspect ratio. In addition, it has IPS technology so you can see the part perfectly from any angle. Also noteworthy is the location of the fingerprint sensor on the power button on the side , a very comfortable position.
Performance by Mediatek: Blackview A90, what can you expect from such a cheap smartphone?
Considering the price of this device, we can get an idea of its technical specifications. They are quite modest as you would expect, but still have enough creditworthiness to be able to perform well in undemanding environments. Its SoC is signed by Mediatek, specifically with an eight-core Helio P60 at 2.0 GHz. The accompanying RAM is 4 GB , while its internal storage remains at 64 GB . It should be sufficient for the majority of users targeted by these types of terminals.
Regarding its connectivity, it offers us 4G networks , without a trace of the 5G that is already beginning to be deployed this year but which, on the other hand, is not necessary in this case either. It does have a dual SIM card slot , that is, you can carry two nanoSIMs on the same device, with two different phone numbers, they can even be from different operators.
If you are one of those who listen to the radio with your mobile, you will like to know that it also includes FM Radio. In addition, it has a compass and gyroscope and, most interesting of all, NFC for mobile payments.
Battery and software
You may have never heard of Doke OS 2.0 . It is about the customization layer that this device brings, based on Android 11 , and with interesting features such as an improvement in disk defragmentation, a more efficient task manager, the ability to block malicious or malicious apps with a single click. blocking calls and pop-ups when we are playing, so that nothing spoils the game.
As for its battery, it offers a capacity of 4,280 mAh , more than enough so that, with normal use, we can complete up to a whole day without going through the charger. It is charged via USB C, something that we appreciate since, although the microUSB began to fall into disuse years ago, some manufacturers still take advantage of it for their more modest ranges. It is not your case and therefore it is something that we must value since, even today, we find ourselves with more obsolete chargers in this type of terminals.
Justitas cameras: Their main handicap
On a day-to-day basis, if you are not a high-effort user and you hardly use WhatsApp, Twitter or a specific game with low requirements, you will not notice that it falls short. But when it comes to taking a picture is where you will suffer the most and that is because the cameras that equip this model cannot be compared at all to a mid-range.
On the back we find a 12 MP Sony IMX363 sensor , which has been on the market for three years and that we have seen in models like the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S . We also find an 8 MP camera in the selfie . Both can give us a satisfactory result on a day-to-day basis, in situations where we do not need high quality. But if you want to take good portraits, night photography, macros or photos with good detail and sharpness, this model is not for you.

If you are looking for a very cheap smartphone, with basic features but enough for an undemanding type of user, the Blackview A90 offers a nice design and a balance of specifications according to its price. It is a good option for those who want a smartphone fresh out of the oven (in case you read us later, its launch date was in May 2021) and whose price does not spoil the budget of the month.
