Four holes in the screen: this is the new Vivo patent
Since last year there are already several smartphones with so-called holes in the screen, although in the singular. This is the case, for example, of the Samsung Galaxy S10 + or the Honor View 20 . But, just as the number of lenses in the rear cameras is growing uncontrollably, it could soon also do so on the front, an idea that is already in the minds of Vivo designers. It was precisely this brand that has just patented a smartphone with four holes on the screen.
Vivo puts the focus on selfies with these four holes on the screen: Four holes in the screen: this is the new Vivo patent
Vivo has just filed a patent on several designs with different holes in the screen, for a total of four. It seems that the team of designers is still not sure which option is the best and, as we can see in these sketches, they are proposing the possibility of having a hole in each corner or two double holes in the upper corners.
These holes would serve to house more lenses for the front camera , so that selfies also gain in quality and we can obtain different functions in them (macro, blur effect, zoom, wide angle …). But, in addition, these holes in the screen could also house different sensors that today are included in the notch and that we try to eliminate because it is not the most aesthetic for users.
When will we see it?
You have to remember first of all that not all patents end up on the market, so if you liked this concept, don’t claim victory just yet. In case it is confirmed and ends up becoming a final product, remember that we are already very close to two of the great technology events of the year: CES 2020 in Las Vegas, to be held in January, and MWC 2020 in Barcelona. , which will do the same in February.
