Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71, Samsung strengthens its mid-range in a big way
Samsung has just officially announced the successors to the Galaxy A family, the new Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 , two mid-range titans equipped with a large perforated screen (Infinity-O Display) and a quad camera setup on the back, the which is housed on a rectangular module where the sensors form an L. This is a mere preview of what they have to offer, so, without further ado, let’s see what makes them special.
Samsung Galaxy A71 : Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71, Samsung strengthens its mid-range in a big way
The Galaxy A71 is characterized by its SuperAmoled panel with a size of 6.7 inches and an FHD + resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, which is marked by the presence of a tiny perforation on the upper part, said perforation houses a 32MP selfie camera with aperture f /2.2 . Samsung has managed to take better advantage of the frontal space thanks to this method, which now brings its mid-range mobiles.
The back cover is made of plastic, although we don’t blame you if you mistake it for glass, as this is the manufacturer’s intention. Additionally, it exhibits a mosaic-shaped pattern that reflects light.
It is important to mention that the terminal retains its 3.5mm Jack audio connector while incorporating a USB type C port. Also, the fingerprint reader is built into the screen and has NFC for electronic payments.
Hardware and cameras
At the performance level, it is well positioned thanks to its eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor . It is accompanied by 6 / 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The latter can be expanded by Micro-SD up to 512GB. On the other hand, the operating system on board is Android 10 alongside One UI 2 OS.
In other features, the Galaxy A71 is powered by a 4,500mAh battery and supports 25-watt fast charging.
Moving on to the photographic section, this device has four cameras on the back located on a peculiar rectangular module. The sensors to know are: a 64MP main (f / 1.8), 12MP ultra wide angle (f / 2.2) , 5MP depth and 5MP macro sensor (f / 2.4).
Galaxy A51
The Galaxy A51 is identical to the Galaxy A71 except for some details, starting with its screen, which, although it maintains the same technology and resolution, has a smaller size of 6.5 inches. The perforation and the front camera remain unchanged.
In the hardware department there are also changes, given that the Galaxy A51 opts for the Exynos 9611 eight-core chipset along with only 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (it is also expandable up to 512GB). The battery also undergoes changes, lowering its capacity to 4,000mAh and reducing its charging power to 15 watts.
The photographic module undergoes a single change compared to its older brother, and this change is the main sensor, which has been replaced by a 48MP one, the rest, all the same.
Availability and price of the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71
The arrival of these mobiles was anticipated by the Samsung Vietnam page, where the Galaxy A51 will go on sale this December 27 for a price that translates to approximately 311 euros. On the other hand, there is no information on the launch date and price of the Galaxy A71.
Either way, we will have to wait for the company to announce its availability in the rest of the world markets, which could happen during CES 2020 or perhaps before.
