Geekbench lists a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 4G with Snapdragon 865

Samsung has expanded its main line of smartphones so that more users can access them. In 2020, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE version was revealed, which basically included two connectivity alternatives, 4G with the Exynos 990 processor or 5G with the powerful Snapdragon 865. Now, new leaks indicate the existence of a third option.

As specified by the Geekbench technical analysis tool, Samsung is close to releasing a new version of this “Premium” Smartphone that would allow users to enjoy the Qualcomm chipset but without having to spend more on connectivity support for mobile networks 5G.

The existence of this phone is not in doubt, because in recent days it was known that the NBTC body certified a Samsung terminal with an internal name SM-G780G / DS, labeled as Galaxy S20 FE and certified only for 4G operation . There is even a support page for it on the official site of Samsung.com.

The analysis of this exact same model can be seen on Geekbench with the motherboard listed as “kona” which is how the Qualcomm Snadragon 865 processor is known internally . It is also clear from the analysis the presence of 6 GB of RAM, although it would not be unusual for it to have an extra version with 8 GB as it already happened with the two original models.

In this way, Samsung could offer a processor that is more attractive and popular with users over the Exynos model, while saving money on some components such as antennas and Qualcomm’s external X55 model. And there are still many countries in the world that have not launched their 5G frequencies commercially.

Finally, the phone would arrive from the factory with Android 11 operating system, that is, an updated generation compared to last year’s versions that ensures more future support (Samsung promises three major OS updates in its most recent mobiles). Will it be enough to increase public interest?
