Grimalkyne Tribes and Missions Guide in Monster Hunter: World
Grimalkyne Tribes and Missions Guide in Monster Hunter: World
Improve your comrade Felyne by learning the techniques of the hidden Grimalkynes tribes.
Whether you hunt solo or online with just one other player, your comrade Felyne plays a key supporting role, damaging the monster on duty and taking honey vitae to replenish your health. However, in Monster Hunter: World it is also possible to extend the trinkets at your disposal with useful additional functions. To do this, we must earn the trust of the Grimalkyne, who we will talk about in this guide.
As with the Felynes, the Grimalkyne belong to the Lynian family. They are small, intelligent, bipedal monsters that form tribes throughout the New World. If we establish contact with these tribes and become their allies, they will teach our comrade new techniques, as well as the languages of other little monsters. But it is necessary to find them and complete a certain mission first.
How to get majestic horn in Monster Hunter: World
Find Grimalkynes in your areaWhen you want to track down a monster, you will usually do so by looking for tracks, mucus, and those kinds of tracks. In the case of the Grimalkynes, they will be drawings and paintings that they leave on the trunks of trees, rocks and anything else that serves as a canvas. You won’t earn research points for examining this trail, but otherwise it works like any other: if you mark them as a target on the map, the lafarillos will help you find these creatures.
You will also get clues by talking to an investigator NPC who could make an appearance in the area, just like the rest of the field investigators. You can tell if there is a Lynian scholar by opening the world map and hovering over any area you want to explore: the Ancient Forest, the Needle Waste, the Coral Highlands, or the Rotten Valley.
Once the lafarillos locate the Grimalkyne on the map, you will have to complete a certain challenge or special mission to become their friend. And it’s worth it! Here are the main attractions that these feline creatures have.
- They will appear in other areas of the New World, taking with them their gadgets and hunting techniques. They can also be sent as trucker hunters on safaris, bringing you materials from around the world.
- You can equip your partner Felyne with the tools of the Grimalkyne. So, for example, you can count on flashes of light to shoot down flying monsters. What is it useful for?
- They will teach the Felynes to speak the language of a little monster. Your comrade will be able to talk to some monsters that are initially hostile to fight on your side for a while, or even to mount your mustachioed friend.
Primal Forest: the Bug PillarsOnce we complete the trace of the drawings in the Ancient Forest, ask the lafarillos to take you to the Grimalkyne near the camp in area 17 (you will need to have this part of the map unlocked). He will start running up to his tribe – follow him and your partner will do the rest.
Once you get this alliance, you will unlock the Noctiluca Cage Tool for your comrade Felyne, which allows him to blind monsters with flashes of light. At its highest level, it also allows our friend to set shock traps. Finally, you can talk to the Jagras of the forest to make them allies.
Spire Wasteland: The ProtectorsIn the case of the Needle Wasteland, we will have to trace the Grimalkynes drawings to the desert of area 8, where you will see a small entrance in the ground. If you get a little lost, follow the ants. You will find a Protector within, but you cannot befriend him yet: you must find three misguided comrades.
Luckily, the one in the cave marks the location of the rest on the map, so you only have to fix them so that the lafarillos will lead you to them. To capture them, you must sneak up on them and use your hunting net as if they were any other little animal. Once you have all three, return to the cave to end the alliance with this tribe. You will unlock the anthill shield , a shield that acts as a decoy, and your Felyne will be able to combine with the Kestodon.
Coral Highlands: the Troubadours
As is tradition, follow the trail of Grimalkyne drawings until you find a group of them that are in area 11, riding on the back of some shamos. When you get close, they will attack you like any other enemy, and your first task will be to defend yourself.
Once you finish off the shamos, follow the felines to their lair and talk to them. They will give you a submission that asks you to kill the two Tzitzi-Ya-Ku that the little monsters were targeting. Once we finish, we return to meet the Grimalkyne and they will give us a choir orchestra , with which our comrade can apply the same temporary power-ups as if another player used a hunting horn. He will also be able to use Shamos as a mount in the future.
NOTE: Some fans are reporting that the Hunt Two Tzitzi-Ya-Ku quest may not be available if the Lynian investigator is not in the area. Despite the fact that it is not verified information, try to reload the area by changing the map until it is in the Coral Highlands, if it gives you problems.
Rotten Valley: The RaidersThe Looters definitely have the toughest submission of all. First, you need to progress through the story until you have access to the lower reaches of the Rotten Valley. Once you meet this requirement, wait for the lynian scholar to appear in this area, and head to area 13 with at least one piece of raw meat in the bag. This is important, as you have very little chance of getting this resource in the valley and it is necessary to complete the process. Remember that the first area of the Ancient Forest is infested with Aptonoth, from which you can easily collect raw meat.
Talk to the elderly investigator, and wait a minute or two for an Odogaron to appear, dragging the corpse of a Legiana into its lair. Shortly after that, a Grimalkyne will also appear and will flee as soon as it sees you. This is part of the submission, so don’t worry.
When that happens, head to area 15, where your comrade will comment on how hungry the other feline looks. Leave raw meat on the ground and step back a bit for the Grimalkyne to come and warn his companions. When everyone is together, reach out to them for a friendship. You will be rewarded with the ability to mount turns, and with a useful tool: the bag cutter , with which your colleague can extract body parts from large monsters as you fight them. The more you practice, the better pieces you will get.
Gajalaka Tribe of the Elder’s BedTo get hold of the miaulotov cocktail , we must make friends with the tribe of the Gajalakas, some more violent Lynians found in various parts of the New World and whose submission is completed from the Bed of the Elders.
You will need the presence of the Lynian researcher, who will appear randomly in that area after gathering the Grimalkynes from the New World and will ask you to study ten drawings of the Gajalaka in the place. Then, you will have to wait for nightfall and accompany the investigator from area 4 with the cloak of stealth equipped. While this cloak lasts, surround the monster camp hiding in the grass and reach the boss. You will become his friend and he will teach your Felyne to use Molotovs, as well as to speak the language of the Gastodon.
