Going into details, this screen has a 6.1-inch diagonal along with a Full HD + resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels , therefore, it is significantly smaller than its older brothers. Another notable difference is that it has a refresh rate of 60Hz instead of 90Hz. Also, the certification against water of this model reaches only IP53 , while the P40 Pro reaches IP68.

All models of the Huawei P40 series are equipped with the 7-nanometer Kirin 990 5G chip , which provides them with 5G connectivity in the NSA and SA bands. This processor is supported by a Mali-G76 GPU for graphics tasks and by an NPU that takes care of everything related to artificial intelligence.

The terminal is accompanied by 8GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage. The latter is expandable through Huawei’s NM Cards. The Huawei P40 is powered by a 3,800mAh battery, which supports fast charging and also 22.5 watt wireless charging.

The operating system that powers the P40 series is Android 10 with the EMUI 10.1 user interface on top, but as with all recent Huawei terminals, the P40 lacks Google services and also the Play Store. The same company warns us that the AppGallery and Huawei Mobile Services are provided instead to fill that gap.

Cameras

The Huawei P40 series is characterized by using a 50MP RYYB sensor as the main camera , which has a size of 1 / 1.28 inches and a RYYB color filter matrix. In the case of the standard P40 there are only two more lenses accompanying it, which are: a 16MP ultra-wide angle camera and an 8MP telephoto RYYB lens that provides 3x optical zoom to the set, as well as 5X hybrid zoom and 30X digital.

Availability and price of the Huawei P40
