Koei Tecmo signs quarter of records with Samurai Warriors 5 and Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection

The company signs its best spring also driven by the success of Nioh 2: Complete Edition.

Koei Tecmo this morning shared its latest fiscal results for the first quarter of the financial year, which ended on June 30, leaving a historical record for this period of the year as the headline both in terms of profits and video game sales.

Their last two releases, Samurai Warriors 5 and Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection , have had a lot to do with this milestone , which according to the Japanese firm have sold 250,000 and 240,000 copies respectively in their first weeks on the market . It should be noted that Samurai Warriors 5 has not yet been released in the western market, while the Ninja Gaiden compilation arrived in June.

Twinfinite also echoes in its information on these fiscal data on the good performance of Nioh 2: Complete Edition , released in February, although it does not share exact numbers on its performance in the market in recent months. For these coming months Koei Tecmo does not have new launches on the horizon, but it does report an improvement in its estimates for the second quarter.

If you want to know more about these video games, you can read in 3DJuegos some impressions with Samurai Warriors 5 by teammate Adrián Suárez where he was quite optimistic about the Japanese team’s video game. For his part, Toni Piedrabuena was not very happy with Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection in his analysis for 3DJuegos criticizing the little reissue work of those responsible.

By 2022, the launch of another proposal from the company that is causing a buzz, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin , is expected together with Square Enix.
