With the Velvet 5G reference , the LG company presents us with an elegant and exclusive device. The phone comes in a sober box rectangular in white . Without images of the device, only some colorful letters indicate the model. At the base of the box a sticker informs about the characteristics of the terminal.

Inside the box we only find the  Power adapter ; USB cable ; and of course, the device . We understand that being a sample product, common things are missing, such as some type of documentation and more accessories.

This smartphone is a very elegant and exquisite-looking device. It is a thin and shiny mobile that fills up with fingerprints right away. It measures approximately 167 x 74 x 7.85mm and weighs just 179 grams .

Velvety reflections

It is sold in two color versions: Aurora Gray (the one we have received); and Aurora Green . The device owes its name to the velvet effect with which the case reflects colors . The design is ergonomic and very slim , with the rear cameras arranged vertically , depending on the brand, inspired by the subtlety of the drops of water when they fall. The phone has four buttons: three on the left ( volume and multifunction ); and one on the right for the ignition .

USB C

At the base we find the USB-C input and the jack connector . The compartment for SIM and memory is arranged on the upper edge of the mobile.

The hardware of this model places it in a mid-range compared to other options on the market. The experience with the telephone is very satisfactory , as it unfolds with great ease in any task that is imposed on it. Carries the processor Snapdragon 765G of Qualcomm with eight cores  and 6 GB of memory RAM . We have checked the performance using the Geekbench and 3DMark applications . The scores obtained confirm the range in which this device is positioned.

 

Cameras

Image capture, along with sound, is one of the characteristics where the LG Velvet 5G has turned. Configuration has a triple rear camera , combining a lens principal of 48 MP , with a super wide angle 120º of 8 MP and depth sensor of 5MP . All of them, together with the technologies available in the phone, provide brilliant photos , even in low-light environments, without penalizing sharpness . It also stabilizes movement , for shake-free videos , and we can evenmanually change the recording speed .

Rear camera set

On the front we offer a lens of 16 MP , perfect for selfies , which can be fun to incorporating technology 3D facial mesh . When activated, photographic effects are applied that adjust to our face even in motion. Enthusiasts stickers will be able to enjoy a great time .

User experience with the LG Velvet 5G is based on a battery of 4,300 mAh . A capacity that at first may seem short, compared to what some manufacturers are offering today in their devices, but nevertheless, thanks to the good work of LG, it goes a long way in this model. It can last a whole day without problems, and in addition, the mobile has the advantage of fast charging and wireless charging .

The terminal works with a recognizable Android 10 . Basically the brand has not touched anything on the interface, being very simple and intuitive to get hold of the terminal. It certainly does not demand any effort from the user to use the device at leisure. As standard, it includes the best-known apps in the Google ecosystem , and with access to the application store we have infinite ways to personalize the mobile. In addition, with the incorporation of AI , Velvet 5G itself makes our lives much easier.

The connectivity puts the finishing touch to a really balanced and current device. It has a good Wi-Fi Dual 802.11a / b / g / n / ac ; Bluetooth 5.1 .; NFC ; and GPS navigation . Also, thanks to the convenience of the USB C connector , and its advantages, the device is very easy to connect, and fast in data transfer.
