Motorola Edge y Edge Plus, topes de gama con pantalla Endless Edge y 5G
Motorola had scheduled a launch event for the end of April and it has fulfilled it, announcing its new top of the range: the Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Plus, a pair of terminals that do not skimp on features and that are provided with 5G connectivity . And as is the custom in Gizlogic , in this post we will proceed to break down its components and everything that makes them special. Without further ado , let’s begin :
Motorola Edge Plus: Motorola Edge y Edge Plus, topes de gama con pantalla Endless Edge y 5G
The Motorola Edge Plus is the big brother, so it earns the honor of going first. This premium-range smartphone is equipped with a 6.7-inch OLED screen with perforation in the upper left corner and an FHD + resolution of 2,520 x 1,080 pixels . What makes this panel interesting is Motorola’s Endless Edge design , which is characterized by 90 ° curved sides that connect to the frame of the device.
The display of both devices is complemented by a 90Hz refresh rate for greater fluidity when navigating the interface and playing games, but it is also compatible with the HDR10 + standard for a high quality dynamic range in compatible content. Likewise, it is on the screen where we will find the respective fingerprint reader.
Additionally, we will find extra functions in these Motorola terminals, such as “Edge Touch” , which adds touch buttons when playing games and using the screen horizontally.
As if that were not enough, the set has a pair of stereo speakers tuned by the sound firm Wave Audio . Regarding its interfaces, it cannot be omitted to mention the fact that the terminal has a USB type C port and a 3.5mm Jack connector for headphones.
Hardware and Features
Obviously we will find the Snapdragon 865 chip on board this device, which gives it 5G connectivity in the NSA and SA bands. Furthermore, it is paired with the powerful Adreno 650 GPU and is backed by 12GB of RAM along with 256GB of internal storage (not expandable).
The Motorola Edge Plus is powered by a generous 5,000mAh battery provided with 18-watt fast charging and 15-watt wireless charging. In addition, the terminal supports reverse charging with a power of 5 watts.
Giving life to the terminal we have the Android 10 operating system and in terms of connectivity we find the latest and the best, such as Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS and NFC for electronic payments.
It is also worth mentioning that both devices are IP54 certified against water and dust.
Cameras
The Motorola Edge Plus has a configuration very similar to that of the standard model, with the exception of the main sensor, which gives it the advantage in everything related to photography, since it uses a 108MP camera with f / 1.8 aperture, stabilization Image optics and Quad Pixel technology to merge 4 pixels into 1 and get photos with a resolution of 27MP.
Accompanying this spectacular sensor we will get a 16MP super wide-angle lens with f / 2.4 aperture and a third 8MP (f / 2.4) sensor that provides 2X optical zoom to the whole. The latter also has optical image stabilization. Finally, there is a 3D time-of-flight sensor to detect depth. The Motorola Edge Plus promises not only 4K video recording, but also offers support for 6K at 30FPS and FullHD at 120FPS.
For its part, the front camera is 25MP with f / 2.0 aperture , and this is something that is maintained in both terminals.

The Motorola Edge is not far from its older brother, retaining the same size dimensions and also the characteristics of the screen. However, the differences begin to be marked once we take a look at its specifications, since you will notice that the Snapdragon 865 chip has been replaced by the Snapdragon 765 together with the Adreno 620 GPU .
Although 5G connectivity is maintained in the equipment, the amount of installed RAM drops to 6GB or 4GB , and the same goes for the internal storage, which remains at 128GB, but at least you have the option to expand it up to 1TB via Micro-SD.
As expected, the battery also suffers a cut, dropping to 4,500mAh and dispensing with wireless and reverse charging.
As mentioned above, the photographic configuration is almost the same on both terminals, but with one important difference: the main camera. In the case of the standard Motorola Edge, this is a 64MP sensor with f / 1.8 aperture , which, although it retains the same functions as the Motorola Edge Plus, lowers the resolution of the photos to 16MP and of the recording of video at 4K (30FPS).
