Motorola S Edge, this will be the first mobile with Snapdragon 870
Motorola is set to introduce the Motorola S Edge on January 26, when the Snapdragon 870 chip will also debut . And a few days after the announcement, real images of the device appeared on Chinese social networks that reveal its appearance. Additionally, an official AnTuTu test gives us an idea of what to expect from Qualcomm’s new SoC in terms of performance.
We practically already know the terminal in its entirety without it having stepped on the market yet.
The Motorola S Edge no longer keeps many secrets : Motorola S Edge, this will be the first mobile with Snapdragon 870
We’ll start with its design, which features a square camera cutout with four modules headed by a 64MP main camera. The leaked images also give a first look at what the rear of the Motorola Edge will look like. Apparently, the color displays for this device will be white / silver and blue.
Regarding the screen, we would be talking about a 6.7-inch panel with FullHD + resolution and a very, very unusual refresh rate of 105Hz that makes us doubt. Either way, the panel houses two holes for the front cameras, whose resolution will be 16MP and 8MP.
For its part, the rear camera will have 64MP + 16MP + 2MP + 2MP sensors , which we assume will be main, super wide angle, macro and depth, respectively.
Turning to the field of hardware, Snapdragon 870 Chip would be the star here, deserved renewal of the Snapdragon 865. In this regard, the benchmark of AnTuTu throws a respectable combined score of 679.860 points .
A quick comparison to the December AnTuTu leaderboard reveals that the Motorola Edge S easily outperforms Snapdragon 865-based phones such as the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and iQOO 5.
Finally, the terminal would be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and accompanied by 8GB / 12GB of RAM along with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.
