In recent days a very useful new application has arrived on the App Store. This is  Google Smart Lock,  which, until now, offered compatibility with Android 7.0 and higher and now extends its range of action to iOS as well. This application is used to use  two-step authentication , a process also known as 2FA.

Although it is a tool of the Big G, with it you can also get more out of your iPhone. It is an app that  improves the security of your Google accounts . It can be used for Gmail, Drive, Chrome and a long etcetera. With this double authentication, you can  use your iPhone to unlock Google accounts.

You will only need to configure it on your iPhone and, when you log into any of these services  from Chrome, a warning will appear on your iPhone, which you will have to confirm for this access to be validated. This is also very useful to be prevented from possible unwanted access, since if you receive this notice and it was not you, you will be aware that someone is trying to access your account. In that case, close all existing sessions, change the password to a more secure one, and do not share the new password with anyone.

For now, for Google Smart Lock to work on iPhone mobiles, both the device from which you want to start the new session and said iPhone must be linked via Bluetooth.

How to download Google Smart Lock for iPhone and iPad

You can now download it  through the App Store for both iPhone and iPad devices. It is free and to enjoy this function you will need version 1.6 of January 13, 2020.
