The Chinese manufacturer  POCO  has just unveiled one of the new jewels in its crown. On this occasion, it is the  POCO M3 Pro 5G , a smartphone that does not aspire to the high-end but that does offer us a value for money worthy of the best. We talk in this article about its characteristics, its pros and cons, and where you can get the best prices to get it.

We do not know when those responsible for the design of these smartphones came up with a twist to the appearance of the terminal, but the truth is that, what seemed to be going very well, finally remained in a want and I can not. This smartphone has all the ingredients to be a  very nice, modern and slim model , however, we have to give it a slap on the wrist for that big word POCO silkscreened just below its cameras. Your fans will love it; the rest of the world would have preferred that they ignore this detail.

What can we expect from a smartphone in which it has prevailed to offer an economic price? Obviously, an obvious cut in specifications with respect to the high ranges. In this case, the POCO M3 Pro 5G has a MediaTek MT6833 7nm  processor  with eight cores, with a maximum clock frequency of 2.2 GHz, which is not bad at all. In addition, it comes accompanied by a  Mali-G57 MC2 GPU  and two variants of RAM and internal storage: 4 GB + 64 GB / 6 GB + 128 GB . It also offers a memory card slot. So that you have a more faithful idea of ​​what you can expect from it, keep in mind that it is the same processor that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G uses . 

Accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and compass are the sensors that this model equips. As for connectivity, the truth is that it is well stocked with everything we could expect from it. Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, infrared port , even FM Radio or NFC for mobile payments or 3.5 mm jack for those who want to have the more ports the better. Of course, we cannot forget about 5G connectivity  , which makes it stand out in the mid-range. It is also  dual SIM . It does not lack detail.

Battery and software

Although Android 12 has already said present and just a few days ago some of its novelties were revealed, it still has a few months to go until it reaches the market in a stable way. Meanwhile, this POCO M3 Pro 5G brings  MIUI 12 , Xiaomi’s customization layer based on  Android 11 . The result is a fairly intuitive interface, with access to Google applications and focused on the average user.

As for the battery, we find a waste of milliamps thanks to its 5,000 mAh capacity  , which will give you autonomy for a couple of days if you are not a user with extreme use. This of course is a great advantage, although where we do see that it clicks is in the load, since it only equips a  fast charge of 18W . Taking into account that the manufacturer itself already has models on the market with 65W, we miss a little more gasoline in this regard.

The photographic section is one of the most important points in this type of device and in this case we find a triple rear camera configuration and an individual camera on the front. In the backs of the terminal we have a set of sensors formed by a lens  wide angle 48 MP f / 1.8,  one  macro 2MP f / 2.4  and a  depth of 2 MP f / 2.4 . Video recording is possible with a maximum quality of  4K @ 30 fps . For its part, the selfie stays at the discreet  8 MP f / 2.0  with 1080p @ 30 fps video  recording .

Are they enough? Keep in mind that we are talking at all times about a smartphone with an economic price, so we cannot expect great photographic effects or compare it with terminals that move around 1,000 euros. Therefore, always being clear about what you are going to pay for it if you finally decide on this model, its camera, without being outstanding, can give you a lot of play. In situations of good environmental conditions, it will take quite interesting photos, but you will notice that it costs a little more in other cases, such as night scenes.
