Prepare each Russian class carefully

Once the objective of the classes is defined, it is time to get to the heart of the matter: the preparation of your course.

Learning Russian goes through several stages:

• Know the Cyrillic alphabet
• Improve listening comprehension
• Learn to speak russian
• Assimilate Russian expressions …

For each notion that is taught, it is necessary to delimit the subject . Every problem has its beginning and end.

Learning the Russian alphabet, for example, begins with the teaching of each letter and ends when the student knows the alphabet by heart.

It is imperative to provide examples for each notion taught. Sample sentences when a student learns grammar are essential to help him remember better. And speak as much Russian as you can during class!

From one class to the next, review the classes taught to the student to put yourself back in the student’s shoes and learn how to structure the next class.

To help you prepare for each class, check at the end of each session that the concept has been well understood. If this is not the case, it could be the subject of a reminder and deepening in the next session.

Always try to put yourself in the place of the student to understand what he has not learned and ask him how you can help him achieve this or that goal.

Prepare some  summary sheets of the class to give to the student at the end. You can take a look again at the beginning of the next class and have the student self-assess their memorization and understanding .

If your student needs your help with preparation for an exam, prepare some topics and put them into practice in real life.

Doing an evaluation at the beginning of the course will be useful, but you can also do it on time, every 5 or 6 sessions to establish an evaluation of your weaknesses, strengths, gaps and needs.

This is a great way to show the student that they have also made progress and continue to motivate them .
