According to the official words of the manufacturer, this fifth generationQualcomm Quick Charge 5 is now official and arrives with a 100W charge manages to improve its efficiency by 70% compared to Quick Charge 4 , while achieving ten times the power delivery of Quick Charge 12. This solution supports 2S batteries and 20 volts of energy supply.

On the other hand, Quick Charge 5 establishes itself as the new standard for recharging thanks to a speed four times higher than in the previous generation , in addition to taking into account extreme security measures with 12 separate protections for voltage, current and temperature, including the 25V USB input surge protection and external power controls beyond 30V.

Among the great novelties it can be noted that Qualcomm Battery Saver and the new Qualcomm Smart Identification of Adapter Capabilities technology are two solutions that work together to maximize energy transfer efficiency, increase security and help extend the life cycle of the battery in the users device.

Finally, the QC5’s support for charging capacities greater than 100W works within the same footprint as the previous 45W solution , reducing the need for users to purchase additional fast-charge certified accessories on all devices. Quick Charge 5 is optimized to take advantage of USB-PD and Type-C technologies, so there will be no problems for its implementation in current Smartphones.
