It has not been a good year for everyone and logically this includes the main technology companies globally, such is the case of Samsung . And it is that the latest statistics shared mention that for the first time in nine years for the South Korean firm it has not been possible to exceed the line of 300 million distributed telephones .

According to reports that come from specialized media in South Korea, the local giant will have around 270 million terminals distributed throughout 2020 in the world . Of course, there is no mention of a drop in the interest or popularity of the brand as has happened to so many mobile manufacturers in the past decade, but a simple consequence of COVID-19.

The report mentions that in the third quarter of 2020 Samsung had already officially confirmed the distribution of 189 million phones worldwide, which also remained a positive number taking into account the scope of the pandemic in all countries .

Likewise, Samsung expects that 307 million units will be distributed by 2021 through a deepening campaign on its mid-range and entry-level lines with a first access to 5G mobile connectivity, while marketing efforts on its terminals with folding design.

Of those 307 million, it is expected that 287 million correspond to smartphones and a portion of around 50 million Smartphones will correspond to their flagships . For the first days of 2021, the presentation of three versions is already expected, Samsung Galaxy S21, Plus and Ultra , of which images and specifications have already been leaked during the past weeks.
