The world’s number 1 smartphone manufacturer has just announced in India a new mid-range mobile, it is the Samsung Galaxy M31, which we had talked about in a past opportunity and we had told you that it would come with very interesting features for its price. Now that it is official, we can go into details. The Samsung Galaxy M31 improves a little each one of the aspects of its predecessor, where before there was a 32MP sensor, now there is a 64MP sensor, where before there were 3GB or 4GB of RAM, now there are 6GB and so on; This is not to mention the significant leap from the Exynos 7904 chip to the new 9611.

The Samsung Galaxy M31 exhibits a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with FulHD + resolution  (19.5.9 aspect), it has the infinity -U design  with a U-shaped notch that we have seen in other company phones. Regarding its protection, it has a layer of Corning  Gorilla Glass  3 glass .  

On the back cover we will find an arrangement of 4 superimposed cameras in a rectangular module, which is accompanied by its respective LED Flash. More in the center you can see a fingerprint reader, something that could not be missing. The terminal has a USB port and type C does not sacrifice the presence of the  jack  3.5mm headphone jack.

The Samsung Galaxy M31 is powered by the Exynos  9611 chip  , which combines an eight-core processor with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM . The terminal comes in two UFS 2.1 storage configurations: 64GB or 128GB . It is possible to expand this amount through a Micro-SD card.  

Perhaps the highlight of its hardware is the 6,000mAh battery, which offers fast charging of 15 watts and an autonomy of more than 24 hours; up to 26 hours of video or 119 hours of music says Samsung. Surprisingly, the Samsung Galaxy M31 only weighs 191 grams despite its massive battery. 

Android 10 is the operating system that comes installed in the Galaxy M31 , but it does not come alone, since  Samsung’s One UI 2.0 user interface  runs on top of it. Among its additional features, it is worth mentioning that it supports facial recognition, has Widevine L1 certification, Dolby Atmos  360 surround sound  , dual 4G VoLTE connectivity, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS. 

Cameras 

The photographic bet of the Galaxy M31 is higher than what we normally see in this price range. It consists of a 64MP Samsung GW1 main sensor , which is accompanied by a 5MP macro camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens (with a 123-degree field of view) and a 5MP depth sensor. The rear cameras offer cool features like Live Focus, Macro Mode, Night Mode, Super Steady Mode, Super Slow Motion, Hyperlapse, and 4K video recording. 

To capture selfies, there is a 32MP camera with f / 2.0 aperture complemented by functions such as slow motion recording, augmented reality, facial recognition and 4K filming. 

As you can see, the Samsung Galaxy M31 not only adds one more sensor compared to its predecessor, but also improves the resolution and functions of the rest.  

Availability and price 

At the moment the Galaxy M31 can only be purchased from the Samsung online store and through Amazon India. Sales begin on March 5 and it will be available in two variants. The 64GB version will cost Rs 14,999 (€ 192) and the 128GB version will cost Rs 15,999 (€ 205).
