The  Samsung Unpacked event  has taken place, and with it the revelation of the awaited S21 family, the flagships of the South Korean company for this 2021. As is the custom, at  Gizlogic  we will dedicate ourselves to knowing what they have to offer, starting with the standard model in the series: the Samsung Galaxy S21 . 

Samsung Galaxy S21: Let’s talk about its design and screen : Samsung Galaxy S21, here is the long-awaited Samsung flagship

Both the Samsung Galaxy S21 and its Plus version once again have flat screens, and in the case of the first, it is a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED panel with FullHD + resolution  (2,400 x 1,080px) and Infinity-O design. 

The novelty this time is the dynamic refresh rate , which can reach 120Hz in the best of cases, but can be reduced to 48Hz, it all depends on the content we are viewing and the adjustment occurs automatically and smoothly. In addition to this, there is Comfort Shield blue light filter   and support for HDR content.  

As if that were not enough, the screen is reinforced with Gorilla Glass Victus glass  , which promises twice the resistance to scratches and bumps than the previous generation. However, this material does not cover the back, which is made of polycarbonate and sports a matte finish in the following colors: pink, purple, silver, white and black. 

In case you are wondering, the ultrasonic fingerprint reader is under the screen. 

As usual in the terminals of this series, the Samsung Galaxy S21 is IP68 certified , which guarantees its resistance against dust and water. 

Samsung  Exynos  2100 on board 

The brain of the operation is the new Exynos  2100 chipset  of 5 nanometers and 8 cores , which is composed of 4 A55 cores (2.2Ghz), 3 A78 cores (2.8GHz) and 1  Cortex  X1 (2.9Ghz). However, in the case of some markets, such as the United States, we will be looking at the Snapdragon 888 as the brain. 

Regardless of this last data, the chipset is accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 128GB and 256GB options for internal storage. However, this time there is no Micro-SD slot to expand it. 

Powering the terminal we will get a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging of 25W , wireless charging of 15W and reverse charging of 9W. And as had been rumored, the Samsung Galaxy S21 (and the Plus and Ultra versions) does not include a charger in the box, only a USB Type-C cable. 

Finally, the operating system is none other than Android 11 along with the OneUI  3.1 interface  , and the connectivity options range from 5G to  Wi- Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC for contactless payments. 

Cameras and photography 

The photographic setup of the Samsung Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus is comprised of a 12MP (f / 2.2) ultra-wide sensor with a 120 ° degree field of view, a 12MP dual-pixel autofocus camera with OIS (f / 1.8) and lastly a 64MP f / 2.0 telephoto lens with OIS, PDAF and 3x hybrid optical zoom. 

For its part, the selfie camera   is 10MP , has a pixel size of 1.22µm and a field of view of 80 ° degrees. 

The set is capable of filming 4K video at 60FPS and even capturing 8K photos taken from the videos. There are also improvements in portrait mode and a vlogger mode when recording with the front camera. 

Availability and price of the Samsung Galaxy S21 

The Samsung Galaxy S21 will be on sale in Europe from January 29, although it is now ready for reservation. The version with 128GB of ROM costs about 859 euros, while the 256GB is valued at 909 euros. Interestingly, the price has dropped a bit compared to the last generation.
