SET UP EMAIL ACCOUNTS ON IPHONE

We are going to leave you in a simple tutorial so that you can configure the email accounts that you have with Black Frog on an iPhone.

We will have passed you the email accounts that you have requested and their corresponding passwords.

We are going to use the account “contacto@rananegra.es” as an example.

1.-Previous account configuration: SET UP EMAIL ACCOUNTS ON IPHONE

Access “Settings” and click on the Passwords and accounts section.

Then click on the Add account option  .

Select the Other option  .

Click on the Add email account option  .

2.-Main account data: SET UP EMAIL ACCOUNTS ON IPHONE

On the next screen you must enter the parameters related to the email account (name, email, password and description) and click  Next.

Note: Keep in mind that if the username or password appears by default in any of the configuration sections, you have to enter the data again and delete those that are displayed by default.

Select the type of IMAP / POP account   and enter the incoming and outgoing server data for the email account you are setting up.

You must choose the type of account. You can configure email by  IMAP or by POP3 . Select the one you consider appropriate. In this tutorial we choose the IMAP protocol.

IMAP so that all mail, sent and received, is saved on multiple devices. The emails and trays are not on your personal computer, but all the emails and trays are on the mail server

POP3 downloads all emails to your local device. The advantage is that you do not need to have a large storage capacity on the server, since the mail is downloaded to your device. On the other hand, if something happens to your device, it is stolen or the email account is deleted, you would lose the emails, since they have been downloaded from the server and stored locally.

According to if you leave the SSL security activated or not and if you are creating the account in Pop or IMAP; these are the ports that you should put:

IMAP server port: 143 / SSL port 993

POP3 server port: 110 / SSL port: 995

SMTP server port: 25 / SSL port 465 (if it is TLS: 587 but we prefer SSL)

If you want to configure your secure email account, you need to modify the input ports with SSL / TLS and the output ports with STARTTLS.

The name of your domain (in our case it is rananegra.es)   if you have an SSL or TLS certificate.   If you do not have this security, which is the most recommended, in that case you must put quierocomprardominio.com

If you configure it without security, then where we are putting the name of your domain, you must put I want to buydomain.com.

On the outgoing mail server, the username and password information appears as “Optional”. You must introduce  compulsory  or can not connect to the server.

Next, if a window appears that says “Unable to verify the identity of the server”, click on the Continue option  . 

Note: the sale may appear twice, once for incoming IMAP mail and once for outgoing SMTP.

3.-Advanced options of the email account

Once the account is saved, access the account settings again to modify the advanced parameters. To do this, go to “Settings -> Passwords and accounts” and click on the account that you have just configured.

In the account settings, click on the SMTP  option  in the “Outgoing mail server” section.

The “Use SSL” option is displayed on this screen. According to if you leave the SSL security activated or not and if you are creating the account in Pop or IMAP; these are the ports that you should put:

Back in the “Account” window, access the Advanced section  .

Continuing with the example of having configured an IMAP account without security:

In this last window, you must disable the SSL function and verify that the connection port is 143. Once the data has been verified, click on  Account  and then  OK .
