Skate 4 returns with a video without gameplay, details or a miserable CGI: “we continue working on it”

The next installment of the Electronic Arts saga will not be present at EA Play Live 2021.

A year and a month have passed since the announcement of the new Skate installment . A year so lacking in details that, to be known, we do not even know the official name of this game which is informally referred to as “Skate 4” . And a year after its announcement we still have not seen even a second of its gameplay. After confirming this weekend that the new Skate will not be at EA Play Live 2021 , those responsible for the game anticipated a surprise to start the week.

A surprise that has turned out to be a video without any gameplay, without new concrete details, nor a miserable CGI teaser of the game. Of course, we can see the reactions of influencers , streamers and professional skaters after having seen the game in action privately, in addition to witnessing the process of capturing the movements of the game.

The truth is that it is still earlyDeran ChungThe truth is that this preview of the new Skate is far from being the novelty that fans of the saga would want to see: a behind-the-scenes video with other people’s reactions after, EA says, having shown them the game. And it is that the director Deran Chung recognizes that they are not ready to show the game: “The truth is that it is still early”, affirms, before adding that “we continue working in it” .

Even so, the comments of the youtubers and skaters in the video seem to advance some elements of this Skate 4, even if they are minor. For example, the possibility of climbing obstacles is mentioned when going on foot, while another of the streamers talks about a large open world without cuts, or so it seems to imply. It is seen that the new Skate game has a long way to go , something normal if we consider that the Full Circle studio was founded a year ago , and EA’s ambition is to create a game that goes far beyond skating .
