Skyrim will come with improvements to PS5 and Xbox Series X | S: its anniversary edition announced

Those who have the Special Edition on PS4 or Xbox One will also receive a free upgrade to the next generation.

Updated (08:36): Bethesda has clarified the details about the update to the new anniversary edition, in a statement to IGN. According to the company, users of Skyrim Special Edition on PS4 and Xbox One will receive a free update to a new generation version of said edition, with 3 additional “Creation Club” content such as that new fishing feature. However, the upgrade to the Anniversary Edition of the game will be paid , which includes the elements of the free update plus another 500 Creation Club content.

Original news: Celebrating 10 years since the original release of the title, Bethesda has just announced Skyrim Anniversary Edition for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. The game will have improvements (not yet specified) in new generation consoles, and owners of the Special Edition will not have to pay for this reissue of the famous Bethesda RPG, as they will be eligible for a free update on PS5 and Series X / S.

This new edition will arrive on November 11.The announcement happened in full QuakeCon , where we also had news of the famous Quake saga . There was no trailer during the presentation, so there are not many details revealed about this anniversary edition yet. One thing we do know is that we will finally be able to fish in this RPG, a mechanic highly suggested by the community for several years.

As an obvious detail, but never unnecessary to mention, this edition of Skyrim will feature all the content previously released, since its original release in 2011. Although Bethesda is already part of the Xbox family , it is good to know that this title can still be enjoyed by players on PC and PlayStation. A version for Nintendo Switch has yet to be confirmed.

With The Elder Scrolls VI still far from showing signs of life, we can enjoy Skyrim once again, with its well-deserved improvements for the new generation of consoles. The game will arrive on all the aforementioned platforms, on November 11 , exactly the same original release date in 2011.
