Sony warms up for February 24, which was supposed to start MWC 2020, but in view of the cancellation of the event, the company has no choice but to present its news through a virtual conference. In the meantime, the Japanese company has decided to announce a mid-range mobile to appease the wait, it is the Sony Xperia L4 , which improves several key aspects compared to its predecessor.

The Sony Xperia L4 is characterized by its 6.2-inch IPS LCD screen with HD + resolution (1,680 x 720) and density of 295 pixels per inch, in this sense, it is taller than the Xperia L3 and has the same cinematic aspect ratio of the Xperia 1 (21: 9). However, this does not save it from having relatively thick bezels and a   V-shaped notch . 

In the back we will find a vertical arrangement of 3 cameras together with an LED flash . The Sony logo can be clearly seen in the center, but not a fingerprint reader, which is actually mounted on the right side, right between the on / off button and the volume button.

Under the hood the Sony Xperia L4 packs a  MediaTek processor , the Helio P22 , a well-known entry-level mid-range chip that won’t impress us with its performance. This  SoC  is complemented by a PowerVR GE8320 GPU and is powered by a 3,580mAh battery with fast charging . It will only be available in one memory configuration: 3GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage. 

This mobile will come to the market with Android 9 Pie , which is disappointing, but it is the opposite when it comes to connectivity, as it includes NFC for electronic payments , Bluetooth 5.0,  Wi- Fi 4, dual 4G LTE, USB Type-C port. and retains the classic 3.5mm audio jack. 

Moving on to cameras, the Sony Xperia L4 has a trio of sensors on the rear. We are facing a configuration with a 13MP main sensor with f / 2.0 lens and PDAF , this is followed by a 5MP super wide angle camera with f / 2.0 aperture and, finally, we have a 2MP depth sensor (f / 2.4) . On the front we will find an   8MP selfie camera with f / 2.0 aperture. 

Availability and price of the Sony Xperia L4 

The Sony Xperia L4 will hit select markets this spring in two color variants: black and blue. Unfortunately, we still do not know the price that it will have.
