STALKER 2 bets on Unreal Engine 5 to create its next-generation graphics

The sci-fi shooter set in Chernobyl will be created with the latest version of Epic’s engine.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl was one of the most impressive games of this last E3 2021 . The title is planned for PC and Xbox Series X | S , and is the sequel to the 2007 cult title, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl . It has been more than a decade and different development problems but finally, the people of GSC Game World have given us the information we needed to know what we are going to find in Prípiat .

One of the most impressive games of this last E3Although the game caught our attention due to the incredible graphic section that it showed, we did not know how far the technological leap reached with this title. We had confirmation that the game would use Unreal Engine , instead of its own engine like the X-Ray, but at all times it was assumed that this would be a version of the current Unreal Engine 4 . Users celebrated the news as it facilitated the arrival of mods , which already had an important community in its first installment.

The surprise has come when we have learned that STALKER 2 will actually use Unreal Engine 5 . It has been confirmed by the study itself from its Twitter account after a cross of comments with the Unreal Engine account . While from Unreal Engine they shared a video talking about the latest titles that were using the engine for their games, they have received a response from the official STALKER account encouraging them to share that they also worked with their engine and that they did so with Unreal Engine 5 .

We were struck by the incredible graphics sectionFrom the Unreal account they have answered in surprise, acknowledging that they thought it was a secret and that they could not share that information, but the study’s response could not have been more casual: ” Not anymore . High five! “. They have also shared a picture of the game engine itself while working on it. The way of announcing it has undoubtedly been surprising and fun.

Unreal Engine 5 is Epic’s big bet for its new generation engine and everything we know about it is really exciting. The engine aspires to achieve the desired photorealism and is presented as an engine with great facilities for creatives . The Coalition, the studio behind the Gears saga, presented last month a demo of the same engine with which it is impossible not to be deluded.
