The developer RareBreed Makes Games along with the publisher Aksys Games , have shown us a preview of a new 2D fighting title called Blazing Strike . It is a fighting game with retro pixel art aesthetics in 2D that the Aksy Games website describes as a title that evokes the nostalgia of the pioneers of the genre but includes a unique game system with modern mechanics .

Blazing Strike has a four button system , similar to SNK classics, but with six normal attacks: light, medium and heavy punches and kicks, and three defense movements: block, guard and parry. It also features a Rush Trigger that allows players to attack and move faster while depleting the Rush Meter, bringing the character into a temporary stunned state. It will have three game modes: Story, Arcade, and Versus mode, plus training, plus GGPO-powered online combat.

Blazing Strike is coming to PC and consoles in spring 2022 .
