EA Motive confirms that survival horror will not have load times throughout the game and will take advantage of 3D Audio.
Awaited for many years, the past EA Play finally served to know the development of a new Dead Space , although in reality it will be a remake of the original adventures starring Isaac Clarke. Developed by Motive Studios, it will come to PS5, Xbox Series X | S and PC , unleashing the potential of all systems thanks to the Frostbite engine. And as the hours go by we know new details, beyond the fact that you will not have microtransactions .
The senior producer Philippe Ducharme and the creative director Roman Campos-Oriola have granted an interview to the IGN portal where they detail some interesting aspects of the game, and that have to do both with its fidelity with the original and the way in which they will take advantage of the systems of new generation .
Motive is working so that nothing takes players out of the immersionAlthough they affirm that they used the levels of the original game as a base, there are some changes in some corridors that they wanted to do in a certain way, but they had to be modified, surely, due to technical limitations. But, in the rest, they are working from scratch “in terms of images, sound, gameplay, everything, we are rebuilding all these assets . We are not carrying them, we are not uploading the texture or adding more polygons to the model. It is really rebuilding all these elements “, say from Motive.
They are clear that the objective is to achieve a terrifying experience that does not distract the player or take him out of his immersion. “We don’t want anything that comes from the experience or cuts , so there will be no load or no time when the dive is cut. You can play it from the beginning until you see the credits without problems.”
Motive’s main efforts are thus to improve the experience. And for this they are incorporating effects such as volumetry or dynamic lighting. “We want to make sure that the improvements are within what is the DNA of Dead Space and not only in adding more textures or polygons, these elements will enhance the atmosphere that we are trying to convey.”
The new Dead Space has no release date yetIn addition, 3D Audio will also be used to put more fear in the body: “We wanted to use the sounds that you are used to as well and improve those sounds, and improve this immersion so that the sounds of the door that you are hearing, the sound of the health bar or the sound of the creatures. The 3D Audio will also add compression of the sound source. “
Now, it only remains to wait for the release date of the next Dead Space , which was not said in EA Play, where other interesting announcements related to the brand also took place, such as Grid Legends or Lost in Random among others.
