The best gardens and parks in Tokyo

The Gyoen Park

Gyoen Park is Tokyo’s national imperial park  located in  Shinjuku . It is one of the largest parks in the capital and is divided into three parts: English garden, French garden and, of course, Japanese garden. If there is a park that you should include on your visiting list during your stay, this is it.

The park is very diverse and its atmosphere can range from romantic to pleasant, in the shade of 1,500 cherry blossoms  during Hanami. Not only are there many tourists who stroll through the green expanses of the park, but there are also many Japanese who go to enjoy the gardens of Gyoen Park. If you go to Tokyo, you should definitely visit this magnificent park!

Ueno Park

In the Taito neighborhood  , located in the Ueno neighborhood, northeast of Tokyo, you will find the famous  Ueno Park . This place is much more than a green space and if you plan to live in Japan one day, you will surely spend a lot of time there. In fact, in this park you will find several things:

• Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines.
• Show rooms.
• A huge zoo.
• Several important museums in the capital.
• The great Shinobazu Pond in the center of the park.

The entrance is completely  free , so do not hesitate to go there, especially during Hanami to admire the sakura. You can also take a picture with the statue of the last samurai!

Yoyogi Park

Near the Meiji Shrine located in  Harajuku , in the Shibuya neighborhood, is the Yoyogi Park  , a large public garden frequented by both Japanese and foreigners. Strolling through this lush place is best in spring to admire the cherry blossoms or on a Sunday to watch people  cosplay .

Take a moment to take a break from the neighborhood department stores to admire nature that easily equals that of the Imperial Palace gardens or Mount Fuji, before going to eat sushi at one of the restaurants in Harajuku.
