The origin of the world : a work of the Muse dorsal

Now we present The Origin of the World , the painting that has been the subject of numerous flashes since it was created by Gustave Courbet in 1866. The canvas represents a female nude , whose focus is on the female genital organ.

Courbet’s goal was to show the realistic side of his approach, showing women as they were in their day, without frills or academic modesty.

Although it might be controversial for the time, today it is considered a very daring masterpiece that it is proud to have in the Musée d’Orsay.

Paintings to admire: Starry Night on the Rhone

The Starry Night on the Rhone is an 1888 oil on canvas painting by Vincent Van Gogh, an illustrious Dutch artist.

The painting of the night undoubtedly intrigued Van Gogh, who chose this subject to make various paintings. The night scene and especially the starry sky fascinated the artist:

“Let’s not forget that small emotions are the great captains of our lives and that we must obey them without knowing it.” – Vincent van Gogh

At the Musée d’Orsay, it is also possible to see his Self – Portrait from 1889, an extremely famous work in which you can even imagine Van Gogh!
