Samsung’s Galaxy S20 series is already on everyone’s lips, we have already seen the first analyzes of each of the devices and also some durability tests, but how easy is it to disassemble and repair? Well, according to the YouTube channel  iFixit, none of the devices in this line is. In this regard, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus and S20 Ultra have scored 3/10 on the iFixit repairability scale   for several reasons.

Repairing a Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is no easy task  : The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is a nightmare to repair

If you are a normal user with easy access to Samsung service centers, you may not care about any of Samsung’s design decisions, but if you are an independent technician and one day a customer comes to your door with a Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus , then you might be frustrated knowing the following: 

• First of all, in order to open the terminal, the fragile glass cover must be removed by applying heat and removing the glue that holds it together to the structure.  
• Second, replacing the stuck battery is more difficult than ever, especially with the board interconnect cables that should be avoided at all costs. Samsung has used quite a bit of adhesive for the battery, and we can’t put enough emphasis on the word “enough”. 
• As in several Samsung terminals, the OLED panel of the Galaxy S20 Plus is adhered to the frame of the device without any type of support, which means that (almost) always the screen will be destroyed when it is removed .  

To top it off, replacement screens often break or come loose unless the frame is perfectly clean at the time of reinstallation. 

But all is not lost, there are some points in favor of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus; after all, those 3 points  iFixit  awarded you must have come from somewhere. In this sense, the fasteners are all identical Phillips screws, so they only require a screwdriver and cannot be mixed either, which simplifies repair.

Also, as in any decent smartphone, the components are modular and independently replaceable … and this is all we can say in its favor, otherwise it is a device that is difficult to disassemble and even more difficult to repair.
