The Steam Fest was a success: it increased the sales and popularity of its games

Valve shares the figures of interest that its Next Fest have meant for the games that participated.

Steam presented its first festival in summer 2020 in response to the inability of users to attend physical events derived from the global health crisis. Events like E3 were replaced by different digital proposals and among them Valve brought us the Next Fest , an event in which Steam provided a showcase for independent developers to broadcast and offer demos to players.

Games added to wishlists increased 421%Three more festivals have been organized since then, Steam has shared with us on their blog the results these events had on player interest and it seems they are really positive . The average number of games appearing at the event that were added to users’ wish lists increased 421% compared to the previous two weeks, 45% saw a less pronounced increase and only 5% reduced the number of additions .

 Participants have seen interest in their games increaseIn addition to the increase in interest during the event, there was an increase during the three weeks following the event with an average of 15% more games added daily to wish lists compared to the two weeks before the event. All of these games received an increase in direct interest from users, which represents a final increase in sales for which Valve has also shared results.

Games that participated in the Next Fest and were added to watchlists experienced an average 292% growth in sales compared to those that were added to desired in the two weeks leading up to the event. For Valve, these metrics show very positive results for the participants in the event, who have mostly seen how the Steam showcase served to increase interest in their games. Next Next Fest of Steam will take place from the 1 to October 7 this year. You also have available our article on Steam Deck , the new Valve console.
