What is the PAU English exam ?: The structure of the English selectivity test

The ninety-minute exam consists of two different options (A and B) in which the student will have to choose a single one, since the questions from both options cannot be combined.
This exam is completely written in English and the score for each section appears.
The test begins with a text of about 250-300 words headed by a title that will help you anticipate the topic. Next, you will find a series of questions of comprehension of the text and questions of true or false, of synonyms / antonyms or to find out the meaning of certain words of the text. However, these exercises vary depending on the autonomous community.

How is the English Selectivity II exam?

The exam is generally divided into three blocks:
COMPREHENSION (4 points)
Choose the correct option (=  multiple choice )
True and false sentences and justification of the answer
Find in the text synonyms, antonyms, definitions …
USE OF ENGLISH (3 points). Examples of some types of exercises that you will find within this block:
FILL IN THE GAPS WITH THE CORRECT WORD (adjective / adverb / noun / verb /…).
FILL IN THE GAPS WITH A CORRECT FORM OF THE VERB IN BRACKETS.
FILL IN THE GAPS WITH THE CORRECT OPTION.
TURN THE FOLLOWING SENTENCE INTO THE PASSIVE VOICE / ACTIVE VOICE.
TURN THE FOLLOWING SENTENCE INTO REPORTED SPEECH / DIRECT SPEECH.
JOIN THE FOLLOWING SENTENCES USING AN APPROPRIATE LINKER (DO NOT USE AND, BUT, OR BECAUSE). MAKE CHANGES IF NECESSARY.
JOIN THE FOLLOWING SENTENCES USING A RELATIVE. MAKE CHANGES IF NECESSARY.
REWRITE THE SENTENCE WITHOUT CHANGING ITS MEANING. BEGIN AS INDICATED.
THERE ARE TWO MISTAKES IN THIS SENTENCE. FIND THE MISTAKES AND REWRITE THE SENTENCE CORRECTLY.
COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING (CONDITIONAL) SENTENCE.
USE THE WORDS IN THE BOXES TO MAKE A MEANINGFUL SENTENCE. USE ALL AND ONLY THE WORDS IN THE BOXES WITHOUT CHANGING THEIR FORM.
GIVE A QUESTION FOR THE UNDERLINED WORD (S).
WRITING (3 points)
Write between 100 and 150 words on a certain topic, usually related to the topic of the written comprehension text.
What language skills do you have to have to get a good grade on your English test?
Learn irregular verbs and main idioms by heart. You will be able to find files in which they are already grouped and download them for free from the internet.
Eliminate stress : you have to be focused and relaxed in order to take the time to properly read the documents. Managing your time well is essential to pass this test.
Relax before passing the English for selectivity!
Get organized! Underline the important words and phrases, use various colors to help you.
Make a list of vocabulary that could be useful to you,  remember that the use of dictionaries and any other type of support material is prohibited on the exam .
If you fail and unfortunately you have to recover, do your best to pass! Take sample exams, review grammar and follow English classes online .
