Texas Instruments, the company we all know for its calculators (often required for high school), is pleased to announce its new generation of modern calculators that feature the addition of the Python programming language. This is where we have the  TI-84 Plus CE Python , a graphing calculator that arrives just in time for back to school. 

It goes without saying the importance of including a bit of programming in educational programs, so Texas Instruments’ commitment to equip its calculators with the tools to program in Python seems safe. The goal is none other than to expand students’ abilities to explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM Skills) topics.

The TI-84 Plus CE Python from Texas Instruments is not a complex device in itself, it looks like any other graphing calculator from the respective manufacturer; It also does not have wireless connectivity or runs Android, so it may be unappealing to the new generation of students; but what it does provide are the foundations for learning to program using one of the most versatile and accessible languages ​​today: Python. 

Python is currently one of the most popular programming languages ​​in universities , and according to Texas Instruments, with the TI-84 Plus CE Python students will now be able to learn it “with the same dedicated, distraction-free tool that they are already using to science and math classes ”. 

The company envisions that students will be able to code small programs, applications and even games using the TI-84 Plus CE Python.  

In addition to Python, the new calculator includes all those features that are the signature of its manufacturer, starting with durability, long battery life (up to 1 month on a single charge), full color screen and, finally , approval for use in exams. It will also cost from $ 120 to $ 160 depending on the store.
