Innovating is increasingly difficult. In the business world, there is a famous phrase that says that it is more profitable to copy something that already exists than to create it from scratch. And we can see this in social media apps. Instagram copied the Stories to Snapchat and YouTube in turn copied to Instagram . So we could continue with a long list of examples. But if we look to the future, there is a new version of this “inspired by” that is about to arrive: the  Tik Tok Stories . We tell you what is known about them.

At the moment, it is in a testing phase, so only a small group of users have them available. Tik Tok is eight years late (it was in 2013 when we saw this format for the first time on Snapchat), but, due to the success of this social network, we would not be surprised if it caught the slipstream of the competition without messing up.

The format of the Tik Tok Stories will be identical to the one we already know:  content in photo or video format that disappears in 24 hours. They will appear in a sidebar, from which you can access all the stories of the contacts and also those who have made them public, even if they are not on your list. From here, not only can they be viewed, but they can also be shared or even encouraged to create our own content.

The success of Tik Tok is unstoppable. The social network that had its biggest boom during confinement continues to triumph and not only among the younger population, as is often believed. Currently, it has  more than 800 million active users per month around the world.

When will Tik Tok Stories be available? The company has not yet made an official statement, so it only remains to be aware of the rumors that indicate how this testing phase is progressing.
