Xiaomi is a company that does not need an introduction and as is its custom at this time, the firm has put its cards on the table; revealing its flagship for 2021: the Xiaomi Mi 11 , which has the honor of being the first mobile on the market equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chip .

On the front, Xiaomi has equipped the Mi 11 with a remarkable Super AMOLED panel with a size of 6.81 inches and WQHD + resolution (3,200 x 1400 pixels). Not only is the screen large and its resolution high, but also the refresh rate is considerable, we are talking about 120Hz with adaptive technology . The latter means that it can vary between 30, 60, 90 and 120Hz depending on the situation in order to save battery life. And speaking of high numbers, the touch sampling rate amounts to 480Hz.  

As if that were not enough, the Xiaomi Mi 11 has technology that can scale content up to 3 times its original resolution (Super Resolution). 

An on-screen fingerprint reader is not the only thing we will find in the Mi 11, since it also consists of an on-screen heart rate scanner that allows the user to measure their heart rate at any time, great isn’t it? 

We cannot forget to mention other small details that contribute to making the Mi 11 screen a technological milestone, such as, for example, the density of pixels per inch (515ppi), brightness of 1,500  nits, HDR10 + and Gorilla Victus glass  to protect it from damage. 

Ah, we almost forgot, the terminal bezels are tiny and the screen has a small hole in the left corner for the front camera. Moving to the back, this is curved and denotes a Gorilla Glass  5 glass coating  to reinforce it.   

The available color presentations are: white, gray, and blue . And as usual, there will be limited editions to be released later, including one with 3D texturing in honor of the company’s CEO.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 has the honor of being the first mobile in the world equipped with the Snapdragon 888 chip , which promises unmatched performance and also 5G network connectivity thanks to the X60 modem. The chip is accompanied by 8GB of RAM along with 128GB / 256GB  of internal storage, although there is a more powerful version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM that will be sold only in China. 

The Mi 11’s battery is another virtue of the device, but not necessarily for its capacity, which remains at 4,600mAh, but rather for its 55-watt fast charge, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse charging. According to the manufacturer, the device can be recharged to 100% in less than an hour. It is important to mention that the global version SI will come with a 55W charger in the box.  

Other features of the phone are Bluetooth 5.2,  WiFi  6, NFC, Harman Kardon stereo speakers  , infrared emitter, USB-C port and MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 as the operating system.

In the photographic department, Xiaomi has opted for only 3 high-resolution sensors, as we have seen in mobiles of the size of the Mi 10 Ultra. In this sense, the main sensor is a 108 MP wide angle camera and it is backed by a 13MP 123 ° ultra wide angle lens and a 5 MP “telemacro” camera.  

Except for the 5MP macro camera, all other cameras, including the  20MP selfie camera  , support night mode photography. It should be noted that the main 108MP sensor also relies on artificial intelligence and computational photography to improve shots. 

Likewise, Xiaomi speaks of the Mi 11 as a photographic beast that can be used to record movies, and some of the notable features of its camera include support for video recording in 8K and HDR10 +. 

Availability and price of the Xiaomi Mi 11

The Xiaomi Mi 11 will be on sale in Europe at the end of February for a price of 749 euros for the version with 8GB / 128GB , while the higher version (8GB / 256GB) costs about 799 euros. As we mentioned earlier, there are no plans to launch the 12GB RAM variant outside of China.
