Xiaomi postpones global launch of Xiaomi Mi 10 series
Xiaomi has just officially presented the Xiaomi Mi 10 series through an online event, which was born as a result of the worrying situation that China (and the world) is going through with respect to the Coronavirus. Despite this, the brand promised on February 11 that it would hold a global launch event in Barcelona on February 23, one day before MWC 2020 , but due to the historic decision of the GSMA to cancel the MWC of this year , the Asian company has changed its mind.
Xiaomi will hold a separate launch event later : Xiaomi postpones global launch of Xiaomi Mi 10 series
This information is official and can be corroborated on Xiaomi Twitter, where a statement reads the following:
“Xiaomi is aware of and understands the GSMA’s decision to cancel the Mobile World Congress 2020 in Barcelona. Since the safety of Xiaomi’s employees, partners, press allies and guests is our top priority, we will also postpone the global launch of the new flagship Mi 10 series originally planned for February 23, the day before MWC. ”
To all our Mi Fans, users, partners and friends from the media, following GSMA’s decision to cancel # MWC2020 , #Xiaomi will also delay our global product launch of the latest flagship # Mi10 series.

Under the hashtag # NoMiWithoutYou Xiaomi thanks its followers for the understanding and informs that it will be organizing a launch event in Europe later . The date has not been confirmed yet, but we will certainly make an update on this when the new appointment is announced.
On a different note, Xiaomi is not the only mobile manufacturer affected by the GSMA decision . The Chinese manufacturer Realme – who would attend the event for the first time – had planned to present the Realme X50 Pro 5G during MWC 2020, but obviously this will not be the case, instead, an online event will be held on February 24 to unveil its new 5G flagship .
Likewise, Oppo has changed the launch date of the Find X2 to March , although it has not yet specified the day or date. The Find X2 was originally scheduled for February 22.
In short, even manufacturers that were planning to hold a launch event prior to MWC 2020 have had to abandon their plans in light of the Coronavirus epidemic and the GSMA decision.
