Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, the 120 Hz screen reaches the mid-range
It is not the first time that we see a smartphone focused on the mid-range showing off a screen with a high refresh rate. Precisely yesterday the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G was presented, with a 120 Hz screen. It is the same data that we see in this Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro that such good impressions have left us on paper and from which we have now hunted an offer that we want you to know. Is this smartphone worth it? We will tell you.
Design of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro: Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, the 120 Hz screen reaches the mid-range
The new Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro leaves us opinions mixed in the section of its design. On the one hand, it has a front whose use of the edges is not up to what we might expect for a 2021 device, however, the rear is one of the most beautiful that we have seen to date. It stands out for its encapsulated camera module with the flash and in different finishing materials to give it a very attractive and premium appearance. On the front, it is the selfie camera, in screen inlay format, which gives it some prominence.
One detail that we have loved is that the fingerprint sensor is mounted on the button on the side . It’s not as modern as the on-screen sensor, true, but it’s much more comfortable for day-to-day use.
It is available in gray and gold with a gradient effect.
120 Hz display: Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, the 120 Hz screen reaches the mid-range
But if you have been slightly disappointed that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro has not been able to squeeze the edges of the screen to the fullest, this feeling will disappear as soon as you turn on the phone. And the best thing about this device is that it has a high-flying screen.
It is a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel, with 1,080 x 2,400 px resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection to prevent scratches. The aspect ratio is 20: 9 and the pixel density is 395 ppi. The body / screen ratio amounts to 85.6%. But the highlight of this panel is that it has a refresh rate of 120 Hz . What does this mean? To give you an idea, the hertz on the screen measures the number of times the image shown on the display is updated. That is, the fluidity or speed of transition of the scenes. This is really interesting when it comes to video games, but also to watch movies or series and even for menu transitions.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro performance
In its guts, this smartphone that aims to become the new king of the mid-range sports a Snapdragon 732G processor , with eight cores and a maximum clock frequency of 2.3 GHz. It is accompanied by an Adreno 618 GPU and presents several configurations in what that RAM and internal memory refers to: 6GB + 64GB / 6GB + 128GB / 8GB + 128GB . This internal memory can be expanded via microSD.
This processor is the same one that other devices such as the Poco X2 or the Poco F3 equip , smartphones that have already more than proven that they perform very well in this section and that promises to give us good performance even in games.
Cameras up to 108 MP: Xiaomi is out of hand
That’s how it is. Xiaomi has gone hand in hand with the megapixels of this device and brings us a photographic section that will delight any fan of mobile photography.
On its back, we find a quadruple configuration with the following lenses:
- 1o8 MP f / 1.9 wide angle
- 8 MP f / 2.2 ultra wide angle
- 5 MP f / 2.4 macro
- 2 MP f / 2.4 depth
Video recording reaches 4K @ 30fps.
For its part, the selfie mounts a single 16 MP f / 2.5 camera with video recording up to 1080p @ 30fps. If the rear camera is very versatile (it allows us to take portraits, panoramas, photos in detail …) with a fairly high quality, the truth is that the front one can be a bit short, especially in poor lighting situations or if our priority is record a video. In any case, it has a very round and complete photographic section.
Connectivity, battery and extras, what more can we ask from this smartphone?
We finish our review of the characteristics of this Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro talking about its connectivity and its battery. It does not have 5G , it is a point that you must take into account, since there are other models of similar price from 2021 that do already have this technology. Essential? Not at all. Desirable? If we want to hold the mobile for as many years as possible, yes.
In any case, apart from this, there is no lack of detail in the connectivity section: WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC or infrared sensor make this section well built.
For its part, the battery issue is one of the most impressive points of this terminal (with the permission of its 120 Hz screen and its 108 MP camera). It has a capacity of 5,020 mAh and fast charging at 33W . Thanks to it, you can have a 59% battery in just half an hour of charging. The autonomy, with medium use, can last a couple of days.
