You can now use two faces for facial recognition on Samsung

Yesterday we were talking to you about the arrival of the  Android 10 beta in Samsung Galaxy S10 and today we have discovered a very interesting novelty about the interface that accompanies the terminal,  One UI 2.0 . It is a functionality that allows  two faces to be registered for facial recognition .

If this is the unlocking method you use on your Samsung mobile, keep reading that this interests you.

How to register two faces for facial recognition on Samsung mobiles: You can now use two faces for facial recognition on Samsung

This is a novelty implemented in the One UI 2.0 update, Samsung’s new customization layer. The company tells us that  the reliability of this unlocking system has improved , both in speed and effectiveness and when it comes to registering a second face.

This is especially useful if it is a shared smartphone (for example, the one we use in the office) or if for convenience we also want our partner, children to have quick access to unlocking … Instead of using the code, pattern or the fingerprint, the facial recognition system is much more comfortable and simple.

This option is included  in the Biometrics and security menu  of the settings of your Samsung mobile updated to One UI 2.0, in the Add alternative aspect section  .

In addition to being able to register a totally different second face, we can also save a different “version” of ourselves. For example, with a beard, with sunglasses, with a cap … In this way, the unlocking will be much more effective.

However, do not forget that facial recognition is not the best option if you really want a foolproof system since, in many cases, it has been shown that it can be fooled with a simple photo. This is undoubtedly the great pending issue for manufacturers who do not work with a 3D facial recognition system.
